AJ was stunted being with McCraken, Bellew has stated that all Rob teaches is jab, right hand, rince and repeat.
This works at the amateur level, and as he is the GB am coach he probably has his pick of prospects. But he doesn't seem to have been able to develop many people into great pros. He had successes with AJ and Froch, but I wonder if they would not have been successful with anyone
Mcracken does not deserve to be labelled a terrible trainer, for a start he got as much out of Joshua as anybody else did that trained him,if not more ! As for Froch well we all know he would travel anywhere to get the big fights and what he lacked in skill and ring iq he more than made up for it with his toughness and will to win,Mcracken merely needed to guide him for fights. Mcracken always seems to have a good bond with his fighters both pro and amateur and tends to shun the limelight and goes about his business with no fanfare .
that's a good point about the limelight cause someone like Don Charles tries to make it all about him by being the center of attention
