Plenty have said it, this is the ESB general forum if you haven't noticed. Statements like that are commonplace and I have seen those words said.
People in a boxing forum aren't the one's who are voting and who matter. So again, I will ask you, who said it that has relevance in the voting? I don't think one writer or anyone seriously involved with boxing thinks Robert Garcia is overrated or stands alone a top of the training mountain. You are just regurgitating nonsense.
rios is only 25/26 so naturally he improves as he reaches his mid 20's, but during this period he should be improving - his improvements have slowed down. Big G did teach Garcia everything he knows, but robert garcia doesn't know everything Big G knows - Robert Garcia is only 37, so he will perfect his knowledge with experience - this is shown with Mikey Garcia - where he improves on aspects of his game - that isn't the norm with every Robert Garcia fighter. Reason I mentioned Donaire is that it doesn't properly show how good Robert Garcia, e.g. Roy Jones jr dad or his amateur trainer may not be very good but this was never shown during his prime as he was so athletically gifted. So you have to judge alot of it down to tactics and what they say in the corner. Donaire in his recent fights has lacked the correct tactics or a plan b, garcia in the corner hasn't given him anything to work with either, he tells donaire do this and that, but a better more experienced coach like roach tells his fighter, what the other guy is doing wrong and lets the fighters fiqure out why he needs to do certain things - this results in fighters performing better to the gameplan as they feel like they are deciding what to do, rather than being told what to do - This is simple Psychological trick (intentional or not) that works for most human beings, whether a child or fully grown man. Pavlik became a champion on his strengths - his jab and right hand and good chin and stamina, he also had pop in his punches, now he is losing these he needs to develop body punching and left hook to even remain relevant. Pavlik was with a crap trainer and that shows because of how limited he is. Now has moved with Garcia and is improving on becoming more all round fighter, but he has lost a lot of natural gifts he had as an offensive fighter
