If you seriously think Kovalev hits harder than Joe Louis, go ahead and make a thread in Classic and put up a poll. :deal:

whic sport r u referring to, football or boxing?

Because I am clearly not referring to football. I have no idea why you introduced it here. if you want to discuss football, do it with someone else.

misunderstood where you were going. regardless, the athletes of today are far superior to those of the past in every way except for heart and fundamentals. my point was this goes for every sport. and americas best athletes have went into football since the fifties.

This. Most modern fighters are part time fighters compared to old school fighters. Marciano regularly fought fighters that were way more experienced and versatile in the ring than Kovalev is. Archie Moore or LaStarza would beat everyone on Kovalev's resume while Kovalev would struggle to be a contender if he fought in the 50's at 175.

I rate Kovalev highly. I think he'd be a top fighter in any era. That said,
    (1) he clearly has conditioning problems and
    (2) he does not beat Marciano and
    (3) he does not hit harder than Joe Louis.
