Is Sam Peter lazy, or just genetically fat?

Not quite true. People have different motabilizims. Some people have issues with how there bodies store extra fat BUT you are right... dont eat as much and burn more calories is the bottom line:good :good

I am the personal chef/Training camp Mgr for Wlad. I have been saying all along that Peters weight is to high. It shows a lack of heart and commitment from Sam and his team

I agree..... Peter was in-shape last night.... His body wasn't gross like Greg Page or Tony Tubbs' of the 1980's...... BUT! I saw Peter breathing heavy after ONE round on his stool....... Cheers...:patsch

Peter obvioulsy gets totally out of shape between fight and that's not genetic, just lack of attitude for a professional athlete. He could easily get to 230 pounds, no reason why a 6'2 man could not.

He would never make 190 lbs but he sure could make 235-240 lbs if he truly wanted to but it's obvious he's not serious enough and dedicated enough in his training and especially in his dietary habits.

Since he is limited talent wise, if he wants to be champ again... and for more than one defence, he needs to get with the program real fast !!

Bull ****, Mike Tyson is naturally thick, huge legs, neck, shoulders, fist etc, he was only an inch shorter than Peter but in his prime he rarely weiged over 220. Peter is a fat ass.

Well, Sam Peter has already been over-paid by his handlers / team...... Peter is a millionaire.... With his newfound richness, and only 28 yrs old, he'll be hanging out with David Tua next year weighing 300 pounds..... As Tua either is now or will be..... Peace..

Goddamnt, no one is listening. Do you see how differently Tyson is built from Peter, Tyson has what is referred to as being a PURE Mesomorph. He has naturally insane musculature and a perfectly balanced skeletal and muscular build. He is a naturally born athlete and has tremendous genetics, that is why he looks as he does.

I'd like to see Suge's post regarding Sam Peter as having seen Sam vs McCline, James Toney II and most recently vs Maskaev & Vitali

I dunno what to really make of Sam Peter

vs James Toney time 1, Peter's weight was at 257, and Sam looked pretty sluggish through out the fight

then vs Toney the second time, Peter's weight was all the way down to 250 and he looked great. of course it was later reported that Toney was sick/hurt thus the bad performance, but Peter looked very fluid and quick in movement around the ring

"In the McCline fight he demonstrated his stamina by keeping a sustained activity level into the later rounds."

I'll agree with this, as Peter started off very sluggish and he had that late activity in the later rounds, because he got dropped 3 times yet still managed to win the fight.

and the Oleg + Vitali fights, I noticed Peter to have dreadful stamina. sure he got the stoppage vs Maskaev. but Oleg looked to be just as sluggish as Peter. plus after the fight and in the post fight interview Sam seemed to be almost completely out of breath.

so based on that ^ fight I would disagree with the below quote.

"Peter does not have bad stamina, but he does not the body type for fast movement and obviously with his size he expends a lot of calories moving in the ring."

his stamina looked pretty bad vs Oleg IMO, and vs Toney fight 2 Peter did show some fast movements in that fight

"The problem with Peter obviously is that he does gain weight easily and it effects his mobility and he does get tired quicker because of it. So it is crucial that he eat properly and maintain and a diet"

yeah probably true in his last 5 fights his weight has gone from 257, to 249 to 250, 250 3/4 and last fight 253 1/2

Sam's gotta make a serious effort to get under 250, IMO.

Speaking of Mike Tyson.... Tyson was ripped and mean as a youth of 220 pounds...... BUT! He really didn't look all that bad at 239 against Brian Neilsen in 2001.... Even with the excess baggage, Tyson was still pretty cut...

Everyone in Tyson's family is naturally fat, just look what happened when he retired, he got fat as hell, his sister was fat as well and his daughter is also big, I understand that people are built differently but Peter is a pro boxer, this is his life, at his height he should not weigh 253+ at fight night. There is no excuse for his weight.
