Kov isn't your typical come forward fighter man. He can box some and mostly everything he throws is long range. He's not just a headhunter either. Way he can turn a jab into a hook or vise versa and STILL knock you out with it requires a lot of skill. Bhops you done enough got nothing to prove!

Kovalev's too much for Bernard at this stage in his career

Kova's strong as hell and would manhandle Bernard in the clinch and rough him up IMO

    Kovalev by mid round KO

After watching Kovalev, he is easily beaten by a boxer with skills.
I think he would be beaten by Taylor as well.

Kovaleve, like all Russian fighters has that UFC mentality where he places all of his training in power punching and punching technique, but little else. He is flat footed, no head mmovement, poor defence and easily hit.
He is always open for counters before and after he punches.
Hopkins would explout allof this and even at this stage, could even hurt Kovalev.

You really don't know **** about boxing.

    You're just trolling right?

Kovalev can box and he can punch.

He could make improvements defensively, but the feints, the foot speed, and the combinations of head and body punching are there.

On top of that, he has a great trainer.

Like I said, he can improve defensively.

The reason why I favor Stevenson over him has everything to do with styles. Not that Kovalev can't box.

It's just for people like you who are scared and won't get in the ring, you don't understand how difficult it can be to fight a slick, rangy, powerful puncher of the opposite stance.

Other than that, I think Kovalev would KO Hopkins as Hopkins is too old and has been getting tagged with a huge shot in all of his recent fights, plus the fact that Kovalev's trainer used to be in Hopkins' camp and knows what the old man brings to the table.

On top of that, from what I've seen of Ward, I'm about 50/50 on that. The more Ward stays inactive and fights these nobodies like Rodriguez, the more this fight sways in Kovalev's favor.

Stevenson however, I favor over Kovalev. I can't deny Stevenson is being a punk ***** though, not because he went to Showtime, but because he's talkin all that ****, and not tryin to fight.

If you talk ****, back it up.

    It's all relative.

    We are talking about relatives.

Relative to Ward, Kovalev is just a puncher. The sole advantage going into a fight with Ward is his power. Dangerous position against Ward.

Relative to Hopkins, Kovalev is an inexperienced puncher. The two advantages Kovalev has are, Power and young. Combined, these two advantages young being the most relevant. I give Kovalev a 60/40 advantage.

Relative to Stevenson, Kovalev's boxing skills are less. Perhaps their power is equal. It's just that Kovalev is flat footed and commits more. I give Stevenson 65/35.

Kovalev's boxing skills were so far good enough to win against fighters like Agnew, Capmpillo and Cleverly, not becasue he outboxed them. They were all better boxers, but because they fought the wrong fight plan and he over powered them.
Hopkins, Stevenson, and Ward are a level above those guys and Kovalev in skill level and they all know how to negate power.

Bad fight for BHop. Real bad. Being badly KOed is hardly what he needs at his age. Avoid!

Kovalev fights nothing like Dawson or Taylor. Hopkins might be a tad too old at this point, but the version of him that beat Pascal I'd favor over Kovalev. Power has never been an issue for Hopkins and he is (or was) heaps better in every other department.
