He was wobbled without hitting the canvas by a decent hard hitter, caught cold in the first round if you will by his below par defence (which we already knew). His chin is nothing great, of course but I don't see it being that much of a problem that he gets stopped early everytime he steps in with a big puncher. I don't doubt that he could be taken out anytime in the second half of the fight, but that is a different question entirely.
Based on this fight, we'd have to say it's suspect. I'm not prepared to say it's glass for sure, but it certainly looks shaky.
Regardless of Witherspoon's abilities as a fighter, he's still a big heavy man who knows how to punch, and he was landing plenty of flush shots to Mitchell's chin. That's going to shake you up no matter how good your punch resistance is. Mitchell's problems are entirely defensive and fixable.
Ultimately, you have to say the jury is still out, because his chin hasn't been utterly shattered. But given that a light-hitter like Chazz Witherspoon had him on ***** street, his whiskers sure look shaky.
:roflatsch Yes Witherspoon is 240 pounds but he throws arm punches. He is in no way shape or form a hard hitter or power puncher.
The large percentage of his record of bums come from early stoppages, if he was going the distance with these guys then I would agree. If there's one thing he does have is a decent punch, nothing spectacular but I'm not surprised he can wobble a prospect like Seth Mitchell.
Few would have taken those shots and manage to come back, give the man his dues ya non glove lacing mu****as.
Fighter gets tagged by 5 big right hands from a 240lb man and was stunned, something must be wrong.:nut
No. A 240lb man hit him with several hard short right hands he didn't see and he still didn't go down. His chin isn't the best ever, but he's not exactly 'chinny' either.
Mitchell probably has an average chin, just his defense poor & he comes forward, which increases the power of shots you take. A glass jawed fighter would've been KO'd by those follow-up righthands.
yea but he is only 6 ft 2..thats a smallish heavy when compared to some of the big feckers that are about today
