Seriously? Are you aware that he fought his biggest fights in 1989? Literally the year before 1990. Is decimal system so important to you?

I don't know any great 1990s fighter who wouldn't start his career in the 1980s. Unless you want to start your revolution with Klitschko brothers, but I know that's not your point.

Well I'm meaning cause Leonard best skill level were in middle/early 80s,what im talking about is a person who started in late 80s and became better in 90s those types were better then the best years of Leonard

As I said, Leonard had his most improtant fights in 1989.

I finally found a reason why Mike Tyson had such a short "prime". He simply became out of date in the 1990s, he just couldn't compete with better boxers of the later era.

You are as married to a Rigid, Irrational Ideology as the most extreme Old-Timer & cranky Codger who always picks the most ancient fighters to win, regardless of style, size, or access to technology.

There is no evidence nor film that you would accept as persuasive IF you hear that the performances were before a certain relatively recent year.
If we convinced you that the best boxing from the 1990's until today was done earlier, you would not be able to see it as great-& vice versa.

You would rationalize it away in the most unscientific terms.
This is the definition of blindness to Reality.

So that doesn't make sense cause mike was before his time so obviously he could compete with 90s had he stayed focus

Srl was before his time to but he had mutiple flaws they fixed in 90s which is the difference from him and mike, and as I said his best skills were in middle 80s

    SRL was 'before' nobody's time...

where do people get such nonsense?

Athleticism & Stylish Boxers have truly been prevailent from the mid to late 1920s and ever since. There were also a small percentage of them before that too.

SRL is a great all round fighter and 'among' the Greats Absolutely,
BUT, ahead of or before his time, what a load of nonsense.

It's simply a smart strategy that a past p eak in a higher weight class uses. Ali in the mid late 70's used it plenty. Part of the overall strategy
