So in Corrales/Castillo 2 your saying it was weight that caused him to get flattened, and not leaving himself open for that massive hook? Explain it then.
Well I am pretty sure HBO is aware that he likely has the same attitude as you, and its HBOs choice weather they want to have him or not.... Just saying the eventually got sick of Tysons **** and signed Evander and let Mike Go over to Showtime.
Frankly, I think this might indicate some sort of trepidation regarding the fight. Maybe he was a little worried about Escobedo?
it was 3.5 lbs so the commission should just not allow anymore of these catch weight fights where we know one guy is going to be way bigger than the other? How big you think escobano is right now?
When's the last time a major fight was cancelled the day of? Part of me is still optimistic this happens. There's too much as stake between the paying fans, HBO, the other fighters on the card, etc. but HBO and/or Golden Boy will probably owe Escobedo and/or his manager big time.
i gives a ****. i wanted to see this fight. bedo got pleanty of $ in his pocket now. why not just let the show go on and try to win a belt? yes its Broners fault, but ****, alot of people still want to see it go down.
Broner should be blackballed by the tv networks for this. He should also compensate those who paid to go to the fight.
The shots were much much heavier kid... its not just 3.5 pounds you dont understand this ****. as of 9:30 am he was 143, he has about 10 more hours til the fight he will be at 150 going into the ring, thats 20 pounds above what they were to weigh in at, Escobedo will likely come in at 140-142ish... do you not understand this? Yes Corrales did pull his right hand back, but the extra weight is what keep Corrales from fully recovering and getting back up. it does make that kind of difference. Look at their first fight... Chico was able to take 10 rounds of his shots.... Even got dropped a few times and was able to get back up and still find a way to win..
good for escobedo. he sohuld now sue for breach of contract and a judge should award him exemplary/punitive damages. straight out cheating here.
Of course it was. Look how well he handled whatever Castillo threw in the first fight, didn't start getting dropped until the 10th round. Now, 1 left hook in the rematch against a fully hydrated, not making the weight Castillo, and boom, lights out. It's actually a perfect example between a fight where they make the weight in the first fight, and then the guy doesn't make the weight and comes in with an advantage and wins MUCH easier the second time. Castillo would have been drained as hell if he was forced to make weight.
