Is the Prescott rematch the right interim fight before the Bradley/Devon showdown?

Nah there's better 140 opponents out there, don't think he'll learn anything from fighting Prescott either. If anything it would be too easy and might make him over-confident. A Maidana rematch would be good, and would sell a lot of tickets for him.

So we might have haye-klitschko and khan on the undercard vs zab or maybe even maidana. I think I will definitely go to that fight.

It's GBP who are pushing the 16th for Haye, currently the venue is undecided. GBP want Vegas, Haye wants London, Wembley, but is happy either way. If it's in Vegas, the plan is for Khan to be the first part of a double bill. Khan's opponent isn't going to be someone who will cause too much difficulty, as he's only going to have a short rest afterward and will then need to begin preparing for the 140lb showdown with the winner of Bradley/Alexander which is scheduled for July

I don't think there really is a significant factor for Khan beating Prescott. Prescott would get dominated or stopped this time Khan is a different fighter. It's like Kostya Tszyu giving Vince Phillips a rematch Tszyu most likely would of gotten his revenge, but there were better fights in the horizon and Phillips got beat in the process by someone else so there was no interest. But like someone said, on a mental and personal level, if it's an itch Khan badly wants to scratch then he should avenge his only loss. Hagler and Lewis did it and there won't be anyone questioning Khan's legacy in the future if he does beat Prescott.

Zab is better than Prescott in virtually every way, not to mention a better tune up fight as well.

The Khan under Roach now would blow Prescott out, it would almost be like Haye-Harrison... a completely pointless and one sided fight.

But I guess it's more marketable to a UK audience... and if Khan STILL hasn't got that ****** off his back...

Zab would be a more watched fight internationally. It would also be solid practice for Khan if he wants to fight Alexander at some point (quick southpaw)

  8. Zab is the better fight moving forward for Khan... I STILL want to see him get another crack at Prescott though, and I think Prescott deserves the big pay day for destroying Khan before... It would be a great confidence builder for Khan to get that loss avenged.

I think its a great idea to have Khan fight Prescott in the UK sometime around the Alexander/Bradley bout. Its a decent tune up, very little risk, quite a large financial reward (easy promotion) and allows Khan an opportunity to work on a few things.

    It won't happen though.

    hell yes it is!

a fight vs prescott then the winner of bradley v alexander will leave him with an excellent 140 resume.

Prescott would be a worthy opponent if he didn't lose to Vasquez and Mitchell, and looking bad doing so. Also he didn't really look all that good against Toledo who had been stopped 3 times prior to Prescott fighting him.

Prescott has himself to blame for no rematch, the fight made sense in 2009 before Vasquez, now it's meaningless.

There's fights to make that are better, if there wasn't then I would say go for it. There's too many "good" fights to make that don't include Zab or Prescott, and at this point I'd still take Zab over Prescott.

As much as I'd like to see a Khan-Maidana rematch for the sheer entertainment, it would be a bad idea from Khan's point of view. He took the wind out of Maidana in the first round and if he couldn't do that again, Maidana would pose far more problems second time round. I can't see Khan's team taking that risk again any time soon. They've proved Khan can take a punch and increased his marketability so I expect an easy fight in April. Prescott would be a nice filler though, even if it's just for the drama.

Isn't Prescott somehow now affiliated with Frank Warren now due to the Khan and Mitchell fights... Any idea of them fighting could be complicated by that.

I don't really see it happening though unless there really is nobody better they can get. It's less good to market because of his failures that followed the Khan victory. The British public has seen him get beaten by Mitchell. It is marketable but there are others that would be better.

I imagine Schaeffer wants Katsidis. The England Vs Aus rivalry thing is what he's thinking along the lines of, as it would be a good promotional edge.

If this is a fight Khan wants for personal reasons then now is a great time for the rematch. There isn't a lot to gain from Prescott but it could mean something to Khan from a pyschological point. The fight should be an easy sell and Prescott shouldn't upset the big fight looming with Bradley/Alexander.

Someone like Judah or even a rematch with Maidana are obviously bigger fights but they also run a higher risk of beating Khan. I'd imagine Khan is looking for an easier fight at home before his huge unification fight and Prescott fits on a number of levels for this fight. I think this time Khan blows Prescott out in 4-5 rounds.
