    Priced himself out?

    Did i missed something?

What i read was JMM saying that theres no point in fighting Pacquiao again and that legacy was more important to him than money, thats why he chose Bradley instead to try to become the first 5 division champ from Mexico.

Heres a quote from JMM regarding a fifth fight with Pac.

"I think for me there is no point [in a fifth fight]. We already achieved the desired result. Then why do it? So I also asked several people, several friends that I have around me and they told me not to do it, that there is no point in a fifth fight. I said before the fourth fight that no matter how this fight ends, there can not be a fifth."

And heres an interview with him explaining why he picked Bradley instead:

Think about it bro, JMM wants more money this time round, manny will more or less want the same as he's been getting; as he is still one of the most popular fighters in the sport. Arum is paying out more and will receive less at the back end as PPV figures more or less be the same as fight 4.

I don't think Marquez has any real interest in Pac at this point, regardless of fight purses. But Arum simply MUST start negotiating with other promotional companies if he doesn't want the rest of Pac's career to become a retirement tour.

There's countless fights out there from 140-147 and it's a shame that a thread like this has to be made.

Marquez wanted around 40% of ppv and Manny's team wouldn't give it.

He sorta knew they wouldn't, in my humble opinion.

No, Manny asking for 60% over a guy with a huge following, and a guy who just embarrassed him twice is what is called "pricing yourself out"

To me looks like a guy who had already made his mind up about not fighting Pacquiao again, but hey maybe its just me.

Marquez is keeping it cordial as always. Just saying, Marquez 5 was there and Manny wouldn't pony up.

Pacquiao can fight pretty much whoever he wants. If he wants to stick to fighting Top Rank guys, that's on him.

A 5th fight with Marquez, offering him any thing less than 50-50 is a lowball offer. I'd be completely fine if Marquez even stood his ground on getting the lion's share.

And let's not act now as if, if there were better fighters to choose, that Pacquiao would actually fight them.

How quick we forget Pacquiao's disastrous 2011. He was given by Arum 3 choices, undefeated Andre Berto, Juan Manuel Marquez, or Shane Mosley. Pacquiao just outright chose Shane Mosley, instead of either the younger Andre Berto or JMM. He deliberately cherrypicked Shane Mosley coming off the Floyd loss+Sergio Draw. The funny part of the whole thing is that in December of 2010 Bob was quoted as saying "Shane was huffing and puffing by the 3rd round" and that he should retire. Then the next month, when Shane left GBP, he was hyping up a fight with Pacquiao.

There's the David Diaz fight also, where he ducked the whole LW division and chose the weakest champion there in a pretty hot division. So you can all quit the BS about Pacquiao having no one else to fight when in even if he did, he would choose the easiest opponent.

it's a good comeback fight. I don't see the problem here.
