Is Tim Tszyu as overrated as his dad Kostya ?

He is extremely overrated and unimpressive. Basic skillset. Squares up too much. No defensive fundamentals. Knockout waiting to happen.

hypejob with just a last name and Spence and Charlos leftovers are his best wins.

Tim will get his cool Vince Phillips moments no do doubt but let’s remember Daddy Kostya was a great fighter.

People are giving you alot of stick in this thread but I agree somewhat Kostya is very good but not a great for me. His best win is arguably Zab Judah and that's not resume of a great fighter, I would say overall Kostya has a solid resume and his achievements of 13 title defences are also very good. But hes lacking the big wins of that era which was filled with a lot of big names, whether that was down to certain people avoiding him I don't know. But overall I think he just misses the cut of being a true great.

Yeah, people saying Tim can beat Canelo and Crawford is a bit of a stretch at this point. Like I said, Tim has decent skills with good power, but Crawford a Canelo can do everything Tim can, but better.

The son of a champion level boxer will never surpass their father

They all lack the magic that made their dad's great probably the hardship.

The real question that should be asked is when will a Big Doodle set foot in the same boxing ring as a Tszyu?

A generation ago, none of Oscar, Sugar Shane or Pretty Boy Floyd (as he then was) dared do so. Sure, there were plenty of reasons why, including the television situation, but it never happened.

A generation later, we're seeing some of the same behavior from the Big Doodles. Charlo thought he had signed on to fight a house cat but when he realised he may be holding the tail of a Siberian tiger, promptly bolted like a startled rabbit to Super Middle. Based on his last start showing, Errol gets ended early. Gets turned into Triple E (early end Errol). Timmy probably needs a win against one of those two to get to Crawford who likely will play it the same way as the A-level Americans of a generation ago. That is, not take what increasingly presents as a considerable risk.

If we do ever see Timmy in with any of the Big Doodles & he happens to win, he will have risen higher than Dad. At least in terms of getting a Big Doodle on his record.

Ive watched him. Tim is impressive. In comparison to his dad, hes got a long way to go. He better stay away from crawford though.

Crawford will be happy to oblige him, I think.
