That is a real statement right there and under appreciated by some but the top four fighters in the division Fury Usyk Joshua Wilder have gave us some memorable fights over the last few years, nobody can take that away from them they all played there part and there is still match ups to come from them .

Good list, we can add a few names to it such Shannon Briggs, Bruce Seldon, Andrew Golota, Tim Witherspoon, Michael Moorer, Tony Tucker, Tommy Morrison, Oleg Maksaev, John Re

Same time we can remove a few names of that list such as Vitali who was more of a 00s era.

David Tua belongs way up that list though. Above Pierre Coetzer, Michael Grant, Damiani. David Tua was a H2H beast.

Daniel Dubois, Luis Ortiz, Ruiz and Dillian Whyte beat the vast majority of names on your 90s list. Chisora, Povetkin and Pulev beat alot of names too.

I might lean towards the current era being stronger than the 90s.

This is the best era since the 90's, certainly much better than the era of the Klit brothers.

    yes it is weak indeed

Fury "the best" has very poor resume
he beats 39 Wlad who already was over the hill like he claimed
and BUM beater Wilder who's the best win is who? Szpilka?

give me a break, they are both pathetic and have no chance against Vitaly/Bowe in their prime not to mention better ones

    it is weak

Ring magazine have just recognize a rematch of a one sided match as for vacant championship

Joshua is rank number 1 contender still to Usyk
    in fact
the top 2 in their rankings are boxers who lost their last 2 fights each

Yes. Rather weak. None of these guys fight enough or each other to suggest anything.

Gassiev keeps threatening to get in there, too.

Look, it's weak because these guys don't fight each other. If this was like the 90s where you just had a constant round robin, yeah, it would be a terrific era. They don't fight so it's not.

I think it's hard to judge a current era objectively, I thought Wlad and Vitali's era sucked but in hindsight it's just that they were so much better than everyone else they made it look worse.

This era I think we have 2 heavies that could compete in any era in Usyk and Fury, Wilder and AJ are decent and could win titles in most era's but never dominate. Rest of the bunch are underwhelming but that the norm outside the top few guys in any era.

I don't think it's strong era, I think you need at least 3 or 4 great heavies for a great era but I don't think it's as bad as some previous era's like the first half of the 80's where you had Holmes and that was it until Tyson came along. So I think it's a solid era and has been entertaining with some real characters that brought back interest into the division.

Today's era has great boxers, but the problem is that big fights happen less often than in previous eras...

For those that are saying it is weak, please provide an era that is strong.

Best era after the Ali mid 60s - mid 70s era and the Lewis mid 90s -early 00s era.

Usyk, AJ, Fury, Jalolov, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Joyce, Sanchez, Ruiz, Bakole, Hunter, Hrgovic, Pulev, Zhang etc all talented Hws. It includes at least 3 guys that will make HOF in Usyk, AJ and Fury.
