Because of his draw ability? A good majority of the skills that it takes to become an ATG are the same skills that make fighters less entertaining to the general public, therefore less popular, hence the lesser draws.

If Mike Tyson were from Britain, he too would be an ATG amongst British fighters. Ahhh ****, he's from America. Dammit.

So you do not consider Holmes an ATG? IMHO he was one, and although he was past prime at the time of Tyson fight, Hopkins and especially RJJ were also far from their primes when they fought Calzaghe. BTW, Tyson didn't struggle with Holmes like Calzaghe with his opponents (going down in the opening round against both of them and winning razor-sharp decision againt Hopkins).

Read it again and try to follow the logic this time because it wasn't contingent on me thinking Tyson was British. What I said was that Mike Tyson's global draw is to Hatton's British draw what Tyson's global ATG status is to Hatton's British ATG status.

Tyson is to boxing what McGwire was to baseball. A freakshow.

But Calzaghe also won those fights and didnt get KO'd or DQ like Tyson when he stepped up.

If you think that I thought that you thought Tyson was British then we are surely not on the same page. And you did not say what you said you said until you just now said it. But it is still an incorrect correlation because ATG status is not gained by the number of people you draw, last I checked anyway. You are confusing ATG status with popularity, and I honestly don't see much more than a very slight connection between the two. What did I not comprehend?

Oh. I guess it's settled then. The conventional wisdom appears to be that Tyson is NOT an ATG, so it would appear that the imbeciles and complete morons dominate ESB on Sundays.

Tyson being popular doesnt make him an ATG.

But due to the fact that he is extremely popular, saying that he is not an ATG is a sure fire way to be ridiculed and have insults hurled your way. Never fails. Matter of fact, I'm a little surprised by the lack of outrage at your question/statement. Most of the geniuses must have skipped past this thread. I guess it's just us imbeciles and complete morons for now.

He had about 10 defenses before losing to Buster Dogulas. While most of his opoents might not have been ATG's. However Ifn you look at heavyweight history. In most cases there is one domint champion and a bunch of "contenders". Tyson beat the best heavyweights of his time and I don't think you can ask for any more of any boxer.
