As were the 70s. Somebody reprinted an article disparaging how far off the talent had fallen.

I have never really had a definitive top 10 because defining HW is pretty sketchy.. Marciano would probably have been a LHW today .. Ruby Robert Fitzsimmons was little more than a lanky MW & men like Dempsey & Tunney were basically LHWs too.. when Louis & Schmelling fought both men were under 200lbs which today is CW.. when Charles & Marciano fought both were 185lbs.. Jack Johnson fought numerous men well under 200lbs do we write most of his resume off?

Ali, Frazier, Foreman all legit HWs.. but a lot of their opposition wasn't.. Lewis, Holmes, Klitschko, Holyfield , Tyson etc all legit HWs... but they are quite recent.. how & when do we define HW from? Because technically a lot of HWs & their opposition were by todays standards MWs, LHWs & CWs...

Then we have the different era thing.. earlier eras had zero PEDs & thinner gloves, more rounds & higher fight frequency.. there is no way to really tell how fighters operating in modern times would cope under those circumstances ..

I think the best thing to do is just appreciate them for what they are in their own time because ultimately nobody knows whos the best. Usyk is the best of his time. That's all u can be.
