Ward is listed as the #1 P4P fighter in the sport right now because nobody has greater claims to the mantle. It's that simple.

Complete nonsense. If we are talking real here. Joshua got warrior inside him when there is a ref to protect him. Period. Boxing and UFC are not real fighting. I'll tell you what, I would take a power punch flush on the chin from a rusty 41 year old Wlad better than I would take one from a 33 year old Wald. Take Joshua's nutsack out of your mouth this thread is about Ward.

Although I have winning clearly last fight, he did had some struggle, I'm not ready to drop him from top 3, but next month fight is crucial to determine his current standing.

I think Ward struggled a bit in his last two fights, but he only moved up one weight class. Gonzalez moved up three. That's what happens when you move up and fight the toughest guys in your new division instead of Alexander Brand and Paul Smith.

Ward has the best recent victory out of any of the top pound for pound guys at the moment. That being said, if you could make them all the same weight class, not sure I would pick him over Crawford, and he wouldn't beat Rigondeaux. He'd **** Golovkin up though.

I'm not convinced he deserves it.

This isn't a lineal honor where you beat the man, therefore you are the man. Douglas didn't become #1 after KO'ing Tyson. Tarver isn't the best for flushing Jones in less than six minutes. Did anyone consider Rahman the king of boxing for landing that haymaker on Lewis?

So yeah, he technically beat Kov in one of the more controversial decisions we've seen in awhile, and DEFINITELY one of the more controversial KO's we've seen as well. Who else has he really beat?

Hypothetically, is a guy who went life and death but eeked out a narrow, controversial win against another top P4P fighter really that much more impressive than a guy who steamrolls all the other top fighters in his division, but there aren't any P4P guys there to fight?

How many divisions really have multiple P4P top-10 guys? Maybe 2 or 3? And that means everyone else not in those divisions can't be the best in the world?

If this was reversed, that Kov won a BS decision and then won on some kind of controversial KO, I doubt people would be as defiant claiming he was the top dog in the sport.

I guess if McGregor does the unfathomable and beats Floyd, he's the best boxer in the world.

Rubbermatch with Kov to settle the score. Kov seemed to win the 1rst, Ward the 2nd.

Have a rubber match in a neutral territory with neutral judges and referee and I would put my money on Kovalev any day. SOB said it when he said that neutral judges would not be fair to him. OK, let's be fair, let's have the rubber match in Moscow, with Russian judges, referee, and boxing commission.......................then you will see that SOB can only win by cheating.................hell, all Kovalev wanted was neutral judges, referee and boxing commission. Kovalev surely did not need Bob Bennett as SOB's cheer leader lying about the low blows. SOB did not win either fight, he lost..............he lost a decision in the first and, according to the rules of boxing should have been disqualified in the rematch. SOB got all the money, the venue, judges, referee, boxing commission, Bob Bennett/Tony Weeks, commentators, etc. SOB is an sob!

Why these streetwarriors never turn pro then? Oh they come usually in groups and behind your back.

Lay down your tough guy image a little bit. I rank Wlad way higher than Joshua. But it was still amazing perfomance. And the power is last thing to leave in HW. No need to hate Joshua.

and yes thread was about Ward P4P,and again. Joshua is current king and P4P is for manlets. Joshua is the best. Ward can challenge Joshua if want to do so.

No P4P rankings in NFL or NBA. Joshua is current MVP.

First off, I'm not hating on Joshua. But I'm not a fanboy. Joshua isn't the man at heavyweight yet. He Ko Wlad a year and a half too late. Fury beat him for the heavyweight championship. Just because he went bat**** crazy doesn't change the fact that he is the true Champion. Joshua needs to beat Wilder, Ortiz before he is the man. And just because someone is not a heavyweight doesn't make them a manlet. I would love to see Joshua outboxed by a prime Roy Jones.

The thing is he lost the first fight and should have been disqualified in the second. That negates his two best wins and the only thing he's done worthy of pound for pound recognition in five years.
