Textbook technical boxers might look great to watch but it also can
hide many flaws which can only be proven in the heat of a battle.
Heart , desire , recuperative powers which Wilder has shown despite
    his technical flaws in spades.

Are we really going to compare Wilder's technique to the likes of Jess Willard? Today's random gym boxers have better technique than that.

He may not be the best "boxer", but he's one hell of a fighter ... :deal:

Basically it tells you that boxing is firstly and foremost a fight, and certainly in the HW division it's possible for a brute to come up in the ranks. If in the future we get a huge 7.0/300lbs guy with an cast iron chin, huge power and good accuracy to deliver it, then skill be damned, he can just blow all of them out of the water.

He does a lot of things very wrong. Doesn't seem to make any difference in the end though. Khan outboxed Canelo and Vo1dimir outboxed AJ, yet we don't all sit here bigging up the guy who got stopped.

He seems to have the great equaliser but we'll know for sure once he fights The Furious One.

Wilder's defense is criminally underrated, but of course it's not understood by the many untrained eyes out there. Almost nobody besides myself and several others properly understands defense. You can see that Wilder is very good in that regard.

So no, not even close lmfao.

Wilder's defence is awful. His defence is his offence. If it wasn't for his massive power every bum out there would switch his lights out. It's embarrassing for you to even claim this.

Valouev had a much better technique than Wilder..................Wilder is one of the worst I have ever seen.................good thing old man 59 year old Ortiz did not knock him out, he would have if not for Haymon's referee giving Wilder extra time!

No, Wilder has a lot of company. To name a few: Marciano, Baers, Canera, Willard,Tommy Burns, Dempsey at times.

I just recently watched Valuev vs Chagaev, and Valuev's technique looked beautiful in comparison to Wilder in the Ortiz fight

I don’t consider him champ - just a belt holder and he’s not the best in the division either. That falls to Joshua or Fury if you still rate him.
Does he have the worst technique of all the alphabet holders that have proliferated the sport since the 60s hard to say some were pretty bad.
If we compare him to actual champions in the truest sense of the word- he has the worst technique since Baer.
His footwork is below average, his right hand when thrown correctly is really good unfortunately he only throws it correctly once every 4-5 rounds. His left hook is a slap. His jab is tentative, and poor unless the target is totally stationary like Stiverne in the rematch. That tells me his coordination is poor. His finishing skills are pathetic and he routinely hits his opponents with illegal blows when he has them hurt.
Right now the division is very poor, with Wlad the hall of fame fighter retired and Fury the upstart in a self imposed exile. Povetkin also frozen out of the mix. Wilder fought no one on the way up and through politics was able to secure a 1 of 4 belts.
Wilder has heart a big right hand and good conditioning. Along with difficult to prepare for measurables. Hard to find many guys to spar with possessing his dimensions. Those are his positives.
His negatives are many, all to do with technique, coordination and I still believe he is packing serious glass. Many fighters with his body type - lean and lanky usually don’t take a shot well.
He is what he is. I’m not a fan but he deserves credit for hanging in when things got tough with Ortiz and pulling the fight out.
