Klit and Joshua are the two hardest. Browne just has a special kind of power that's nice to the eye, shame he hasn't been in the boxing game long enough to develop his boxing skills to be on par with his power. And now he's too old
Wilder is overrated, needs help from the WBC and WADA to avoid Povetkin. Povetkin appears to have been framed, he has been cleared by WADA, so what is the WBC waiting on? That fight could have gone on...............
Never thought I would see a Russian being on the receiving end of being framed for drugs but there you go. Wildmills power is so great that even his biceps can't handle it.... Least it will solve his Wildmills problem now they will be permanently shortened after surgery..
I got a buddy who boxes, who went to the fight. He said that Wilder's power was "explosive". I may not be so much that he hits at a 10, but his handspeed and the range and angles it can come from, combined with the power is deadly. My buddy is a CW, at 6'2, and noted also how small both guys looked compared to their billing heights.
He's a big hitter for sure but I don't think the biggest in the division. However, I wonder how much of that is down to technique because other than the straight-right he still doesn't look correct when throwing. Or put it this way, he hasn't knocked anyone out that you wouldn't expect a world champion to knock out.
Spot on! Wilder's long looping overhand right is dangeros and fast, and he often land those shots behind the guard at the temple from surprise. Opponents think they're out of range but suddenly while stepping back from an exchange they're caught by that windmill airstrike. Wilder is good at timing those shots as well. I would give the shot an 8 out of 10 but angles and landing off guard are way more important than power. Alot of top heavies would go down on that shot. But Wilder lacks proper technique and he would get exposed by fast heavies of his own size. (See: Kltschko, Joshua, Granat, Fury*2 etc)
He is correct. He has what 33 wins and 32 ko's so anything he hits flush he should hurt. Obviously the level of competition has to be considered but he has been built as a devastating puncher.
He'd have more power if he improved his technique. I'd give him a puncher's chance against any of the top guys at HW.
Wilder's power is definitely over rated. Most of his punches are improperly thrown arm shots. He does have good power when he throws that right hand properly though. Recall he hit that internet troll with a Flush uppercut, and the guy popped right back up. I'd have KO'd that mother fvcker if I landed the same punch on him, I'm not a heavyweight.
His power looks legit, except he swings so much and throws them from such a distance. Someone like Usyk would retire Wilder.
Wilder's power is a bit above average. Nothing more. 1) Took 8 to stop Molina, and guy stopped in one by Arreola and ASHANTI JORDAN. 2) Couldn't stop or drop Stiverne, a guy stopped by Demetrice King and dropped by Derrick Rossy. 3) Had to rely on a personal friend taking dive to get him into contention. 4) Developed his reputation with knock outs of Lyakovich and Harrison, guys knocked out and stopped multiple times previous. Wilder's five idiotic fans don't realize that every time a person gets a concussion, it gets easier to get one the next time out. 5) Similarly, they try to big up the Szpilka stoppage, a guy dropped three time in two fights BY MIKE ****ING MOLLO. Wilder hits about a hard as Fury. Moderators, please close the thread. This really is ALL that there is to say on it.
Yes. His power is overrated. Heavyweights have power. However, one must bear in mind he fights a series of carefully chosen fights. Those that it is believed will make him look good. His technique is bad overall. improved but still bad. Szpilka took his shots until he ran into one. Should have been able to put Arreola away much earlier. This guy might even manage to break the great Marciano's record fighting tomato can. if so there should always be an asterisk by his name stating that he is a bum. Anthony Joshua has a way to go but would probably starch him now. Ortiz is aging and would starch him now. Hell, I still maintain there are old guys in old folks homes that would hand him his ass if they were given a two week training camp.....long enough to get adjusted to being without their walker.
