Here is Wlad's trainer, Emanuel Steward talking about the Pacquiao/Moseley fight from Eastside's front page. Pacquiao is still of course the greatest fighter in the world today but this was the point I tried to make about Wlad, he is still the best Heavyweight out there but fifty fights is a hell of a lot of fighting and training and sparring to go through.

STEWARD: Well I think Manny Pacquiao maybe has slightly slipped a little bit. He’s had a lot of hard fights and when you have 50 fights, regardless of what type of fights, usually there is a little bit of wear and tear. I think just the fact that Shane tried to fight, well his entire fight was defensive now that I’m think about it, but it did show that there could be some problems with Mayweather which I’ve always said that Mayweather had the edge over Pacquiao if they fought because of size and the styles. Nevertheless, Manny did what he had to do and it’s very difficult when you’re the only fighter that’s fighting and the other fighter is more in a defensive mode, but it was not a spectacular performance by either fighter from my view point.

You do agree that Wladimir is at the same point in his career that, roughly, where Tyson lost to Douglas and Lewis lost to Rahman.

35 is a perfect age for a heavyweight like Wladimir.

He's got the experience over everyone, he's come into his own and he's a physical specimen unlike any other heavyweight.

Wlad is on his peak, mentally.

He is past his prime, phisically.

In general termsn, he's over the hill.

If you consider ABC belts, Tyson had 10 title defenses. If you consider his lineal title, since Spinks, he only had 2 title defenses.

If you consider ABC belts, Lewis had 14 title defenses.

If you consider ABC belts, Wlad had 14 title defenses.

Look at Vitali he has alot more fights in Combat Sports than Vova and after getting his surgeries is going strong at 40. Number of fights isn't everything and i'd say Vitali has taken more damage given his style than Vova has.

    210 Amateur boxing

    46 Pro Boxing

    41 Pro Kickboxing

Not including his Amateur Kickboxing (no idea what his record is) that's already just under 300 fights. In all likelyhood he has over 400.

It must be hard to be up for every fight though after such a long career and at his age, he must be thinking when will be his last fight and in fighting Adamek he will be in my opinion fighting the hardest man out there at the moment.

Im sure if Haye beats him there will be plenty of people on here claiming he's over the hill/shot/been drugged/poisoned/fixed etc.
