Complete utter bull****. Mercer's jab ain't **** next to Wladimir's & it never was.

As for comparing Wlad's jab to Holmes, what's wrong with that? Both are all time great jabbers, just like Louis, Liston, Lewis, Tunney, etc.

If you're claiming Wlad's jab is not an ATG jab then you are sadly mistaken.

That's true & during the fight I was hoping Wlad would try the rarely used uppercut when Rahman was bending forward.

Yes he did, it won many fights for him by dictating the distance and pace and setting up his right hand.

Rahman's head snapped back several times from that jab alone.

Same here, big respect to the piston like jab of Holmes. Probably faster than Wlad's and a bit more precise but I'm pretty sure Wlad has quite a bit more power on his jabs.

Actually, it was. Mercer had an excellent jab. Watch some of his fights.

Vlad has one of the best jabs I have seen in that division, equal or better than Foremans and Listons in power and fast and as acurate as Alis and Holmes without leaving himself open to the right hand like Holmes, should be good test vs the speed and power of Haye( looked good vs Barrett) in his 2nd? heavyweight fight but Vlad has an arsenal )not as explosive as Lewis but the Jab, the right hand and the hook are punishing...the Klitschko;s are dominant

Wlad's jab is phenomenal, and with a weapon like that, I can't blame him for simply grinding guys down with it. I just wish he'd remember that he has all the tools to deliver a powerful uppercut, as well; Rahman was practically begging for it for most of the fight with how he was coming in face down.

People want a ferocious killer for a heavyweight champion. One of the reasons Tyson was popular was because he wanted to maim and humiliate his opponents. I'm sure alot of that had to due with his background. You'll never find the same intensity with an intelligent, educated, and well-adjusted athelete like Wlad. He may be one of the most physically gifted and possibly the most technically skilled heavyweight champs of all time, but he'll never have the intensity of a Tyson or Liston. He really just seems like an athelete who harbors very little hostility towards his opponents. Even if he had KO'd Rahman in the first round, it still would have been in the same technical (some say boring) manner. Wlad will never have the ferocity his detractors are looking for. Add in the fact that he doesn't like to talk ****, and he just plain doesn't appeal to alot of people; and, there's really nothing he can do- or even should do-to change that.

Wlad's jab was quite impressive tonight. He was easily snapping Rahman's head with his jab. Imagine what his jab will do to David Haye
Can he knock Haye down with just his jab? :)

wlad has a better jab than lewis. that being said he is not as complete as lennox, and we've never really seen wlad gut a decision like a true fighter. when i think back i see lennoz as being greater than floyd because his abiltity to overcome adversity

I believe the poster was reacting to an earlier post that outright dismissed comparing Wlad's Jab to Larry's.

Fact is they both have great jabs and comparisons between them are perfectly legit.

Larry's was top-notch but Wlad's looks harder to me. Some guys react to it like it was a power punch.

I watched all of Holmes' career and I haven't seen all of Wlad's, yet.

So I'll reserve judgment until he's finished as to which jab was better.
