I haven't seen all these fights but I've seen the last 2 and those scorcards are lousy with a capital L.

    Just watched the two fights.

Gassiev: First time I've seen him, not that impressed, a bit too ploddering, even more so than Beterbiev and I'm not sure if he has the same power. I can see him being outboxed by the likes of Lebedev or Drozd with relative ease.

Shafikov-Barthelemy: Close fight, scored it 7-5 for Barthelemy and surprisingly it panned out exactly as I said it would. Shafikov is a tricky guy to fight, he's short, he comes in quickly with lots of headmovement, he's not easy to outbox by no means, though even still I wasn't particularly impressed by Rances.

Gassiev is 22 and you're already comparing him to World champs like Drozd and Lebedev, is this supposed to be a compliment or a diss?

I'd say his power p4p is right up there with Beterbiev.

I want to see Gassiev vs Kalenga. If he beats Kalenga, then he is good enough to take on anybody.

I think we can consider him as a HW prospect, like Usyk. He's very young and already looks big.

Is he, didn't even know that, in that case they shouldn't rush him, I think he still needs some work.

They've sparred each other earlier this year and there was talk of them doing it for real on the Cotto vs Canelo card too.

'For the Lebedev clash, Kalenga trained in Big Bear Lake, California with the renowned ABEL SANCHEZ.

“Working in Big Bear was perfect for me, this was my first camp with Abel and we’ve become a great team” said Kalenga. “I feel like I learned more in this camp than I have in previous ones.”

Said Sanchez, “This was my first camp with Youri, he’s very strong and works hard. I’ve stressed being focused in his work and that’s helped a great deal.”

“We’ve had great sparring from lefties and from Murat Gassiev even though he’s not a southpaw and we’re looking to capitalize on the wear and tear that Lebedev has, having been through a number of tough fights.”

No one would think he was that young judging by his appearance. He definitely looks older than he is. He hasn't been boxing that long either. About 6.5 or 7 years. He started aged 15.

 I think I mentioned that he looked older than me in my thread on him, evidently he's had a rough 22 years, but yeah he's only 22.
