Isn't it time that Pacman actually fights for a belt?

reading from Ring Magazine's Ratings and Championship policy, there are certain circumstances where #1 fights #3 and the winner becomes the Ring Champ. i just don't know if this applies here.

 

whats the hurry? MAB wanted this fight and he deserves it...patience! your boys will get their chance. I suggest they get ready.

 

Blah blah....no one buys that "your boys" BS anymore. It's lost its effectiveness. I don't care about any of those guys. I want the best fights, and Pacman-MAB wasn't the best or 2nd best fight that could be made. Hell, it wasn't the 3rd best.

 

I would like Pac to beat the title holders too. But I dissagree about History Won't be kind to Pac.

Last time Pac has a title he's not in the top 10 P4P. Since then, after he beat MAB he becomes top 10 P4P & a Millionaire PPV star. Beat Morales twice becomes top 2 P4P & Fighter of the Year. Then next week after he KO Barrera again, He'll be probably recognize as #1 P4P by The Ring.

Actually he is not interested to fight for any title because the sanctioning fees is a taking a big chunk of the purse . . . so what was that all about?

Let me clairify this even more:

Fighting MAB does NOTHING for Pac's legacy. Nothing. He just looks to make millions off it, it serves him no purpose otherwise, same with the 3rd Morales fight.

These fights only serve a purpose for the legacies of MAB and Morales, who if they win, can feel vindicated, but Pac winning serves no purpose anymore because of the point in their respective careers they are in.

JMM remains a huge thorn in the side of Pacs resume, until he does something about it, it will haunt him when people speak of him decades from now. Of course he may just be waiting for JMM to fade.. that seems to be his MO these days.

There's some many fights out there with name young opponents, yet he fights none of them. There's no lack of champs to fight in his division, yet he chooses to fight none of them.

History won't look back at him good, because his record won't say he was a champ, because in the end Ring magazine ratings don't mean **** when there's no ABC belt on the line as well. The ABC's may be somewhat of a joke, but when you hold more than one, you're recognized as the real champ, Pac ain't the Ring champ, no matter what Ring magazine says, he has only beaten TWO champions in his career for 2 belts, and he gave one of those up.

I'd have more respect if he had a legit strap and unified the belts, or atleast attempted too... he hasn't.

He ain't getting any younger, but I guess as long as his fans are eating up this sham fights against aging greats, then he'll keep doing it.... but it's a shame.

Because tout all the ATG **** you want, he's not, and he NEVER will be an ATG until he starts fighting guys not just for the name.

On the Maywether Vs De La Hoya comparison, you have a point, but I'd argue Maywether needed that name on his resume, just like Pac needed Morales atleast once, but Floyd is going on to fight a real champ in Hatton, and Pac is going on to fight an aging ex-champ coming off a loss in Barrera.

that being said this fight is a crappy one.

I think they saw potential to make some $ and grabbed it. The promoters dont care about their fighter's greatnessthey are in it for the quick dollar. I dont think PAcquiao in the kind of fighter who really puts his weight in with his promoter

 

yeah. i want marquez next. i hope marquez will not demand too much money for this fight and pacquiao willing to have a little cut on his in order for this fight to push thru.

 

Yeah he was scared he'd knock him down 3 times then get the shaft by the judges and still not lose to him. Pure fear.
