Come on IB, McGrain was acting like Larios-Vasquez was summat special as a series, when it clearly wasn't :good
Bit wan at the crusts, but that nice juicy lump in the middle is worth celebrating! :happy Keepin' it positive, boys!! (I even included the caveat when mentioning the rivalry's epic nature that it was more about how the overall arc played out than an every-minute-of-all-three type deal...but in a positive way. This content is protected This is a happy place!!)
Nobody is saying Larios is a great fighter - I'm not even saying Vasquez is a great fighter - but their fights are fun. The thread is called Israel Vasquez, not Israel Vasquez, does he deliver as much technically as Peter Mathebula? Larios-Vasquez is definitely a special series, it puts a smile right on my face, first round knockout, last ditch knock out, munging cut...you pricks can keep your super-bantam technicians MOTHER****ERS
Woah, woah, woah, back up brother. You said it was like, the best series since Louis. That's an opinion, and you're more than entitled to it, I just consider it a hyperbolic claim. It's not worthy enough, despite being good and going 2-1 with 3 'stoppages'. The 3rd fight in particular is a let down (Larios looked disinterested IMO) There are plenty of better series than any involving Oscar Larios. Like, Vasquez-Marquez for instance ;-)
Fair enough, but I still disagree with you. Yeah, it's good, the 2nd fight is ace, the first is a highlight reel K.O and the 3rd is, IMO, not all that (did Larios already know he was moving up to face Pacquiao at that point?) In 50+ years that's 'one of the better series'? As I say, you know way more than me but I have to respectfully disagree.
From now on it's me, Sal and IB versus the rest. **** all you guys. All your forum belong to us. You are on your way to destruction. Hahaha.
Also, to insinuate it's because of technical snobbery is madness IMO, and reeks of throwing your toys out of the pram. :tong
what you mean he knows way more than you? Don't we all know the same? I like what McGrain's saying though, it was some good viewing.
