It looks like Pavlik/Calzaghe is almost official

I don't think it's about knowing as much as common sense. If Palle/Kessler lands a deal with RJJ it makes sense that Calzaghe fights Pavlik instead of RJJ. Doesn't it? The catch is of course that Kessler needs to get by Sartison.... ;) .

Yes, but in case Pavlik do rock/hurt Calzaghe visibly he's not afraid to follow up....I hope.

Yes exactly, like Hopkins, it was a very close fight.

Style wise Pavlic is made for Joe, Joe wins everytime, IMO.

Joe will just bambozle Pavlik. I just hope Kelly connects! But If he does then its game over. Joe can be hurt.

Joe has never been close to being properly hurt from a single punch and Kelly hasn't knocked out any class opponents with a single punch, so how is it going to be over when Pavlik connects?

Pavlik would walk straight into combo after combo. Accumulation alone will be enough to stop him. Let alone Calzaghe does have a power shot or two to stop him.

Bear in mind against Hopkins getting off a power shot is difficult, wheras on the back of a combo a power shot can be tee'd off. Which Joe will have plenty of opportunity to do against Pavlik

Pavlik is Stun'n Gun. Solid shot lands to set up the barrage. He has this knack of keeping people up somehow so he can inflict damage. Someone posted a clip recently where the guy wasn't even on the ropes. Strange.

    This is absolutely true.

Kelly is like a shark that first puts in a deadly bite which causes the prey to panic and bleed and then he goes in for the kill.

Calzaghe will be the typical victim. He'll get hit and hit and hit and then..........the brain scrambler lands..........he's stunned but upright and vulnerable............and now here comes the finishing combo from all angles. :happy

Of course Jones has deteriorated. Why else would Slappy want to fight him?

Same reason he fought the 43 year old Hopkins.

Joe is and always has been a gutless punk who lives in a British based fairyland.

That's why I don't see him fighting Pavlik after Kelly castrates this Lockett idiot.

But if he does....................Pavlik brutally knocks slappy out.

maybe if hoppy had manned up 6 years ago he could of had the honour of being beaten by a prime calzaghe. :yep

on your other opinions, yes calzaghe in the past didn't get the big fights for one reason or another and rightfully deserves some stick for it. but in the last three years he has taken on the 3 challengers that the fans called for, first lacy, then kessler and most recently hopkins. these were the fights the fans wanted and he delivered. for that he deserves some credit.
