A robbery is Robery Helenius vs Derek Chisora or Lennox Lewis vs Evander holyfield 1. This was a close fight and it's obvious fans of either side are going to be salty if their man looses. I'm rooting for Ward and thank god he pulled through. I thought Letterman was wrong about the 3rd or 4th and the 9th If I recall correctly.
MVC, you're showing class here. So many immature idiots here of how "Ward schooled Kovalev, easy win". If anything Ward went through hell and back to win this one! I think Ward did great, especially considering the knockdown. He had a clever gameplan with the knockdowns. Could have gone to Kovalev IMO, but went to Ward. Fine, it happens. A bit of hometown judging, but well its part of boxing and Kovalev accepted the risk by taking this fight. This isn't a massive scandal IMO and props to Ward to pulling off the W. Its tough to ignore the trolls though. We should stop peeing on each others fighters and see the whole picture here: This was a great fight, good for boxing!

Had it a draw. But can see WARD winning the fight. Kovalev just couldn't get going round 4 onwards. At the end of the day. He only had one shot to win this fight. That was to get WARD out of there early and he nearly did, but failed to do so. He got thoroughly out boxed. Kinda like Marquez vs Pacquiao 1. Punchers chance that SLIPPED away he just didn't end the show.
Very close fight, Ward earned a victory. All the people crying about a robbery don't mention how Ward adjusted and came back stronger after a knockdown.
Everything that could go either ways was given to the home fighter, Ward made a great fight but in the hell he's not winning this one, Kovalev has the more punches, the hard ones, the clean ones, this is bull**** and this is not good for the sport.
If it was genuinely a close fight YOU would not be saying this, you would be trying to convince us that Ward won easily. The fact that you are trying to convince us it was a close fight, demonstrates that Kovalev won pretty clearly.
