Cotto fought a valiant fight - He just got drowned in pressue. I respect the hell out of him, he's tough.

A naturally smaller man than Cintron and it took Cintron two fights to last as long as Cotto.

Well, it was good, but from round 6, I could tell that the tides were turning, and then I knew Margo would end up winning. By round 9, I was getting worried. Cotto Definitely took a beating out there.

I agree it wasnt one sided. It was a brutal war between two warriors that you could not ask any more of. Both are to be praised for giving us a terrific battle to be remembered.

I had Cotto ahead coming into the 11..

But i predicted a TKO from round 5, Margo's punches where having more affect..and terminal damage.

First of all I am thoroughly disgusted by the fact that there is a thread on ESB RIGHT NOW all about how over rated Cotto was!!

Second; after 5 rounds I thought maybe the Margarito doubters and haters were right, and Cotto would just take Tony to school for 12 rounds.

Third; except for the 11th round there was hardly a round that wasn't damn close. About 9 rounds in I thought Margo might get screwed by the judges in the end.

Fourth; going into the 11th I had it 96-95 for Tony.

Finally; a question, was anyone besides me ****ING SCREAMING at Margo, "STEP RIGHT GOD DAMNIT, STEP RIGHT!!"

I agree with this. It was basically an even fight until the stoppage. Cotto was in control the first half, while Margarito was in control in the second half.

I thought both fighters put on brilliant performances Cotto with the skill, Margarito with the will, and while I had no vested interest in either boxer winning I was a little pissed that Teddy Atlas picked Cotto to win, I wish he had just sat on the fence for this one:think

Tho at the end of the fight a para-phrase of a Kellerman quote went through my head :bbb"Margarito doesnt just beat you, he beats you up!":bbb

on another note that montage at the end made it look a lot worse than it was especially as it ended with that slo-mo shot of Cotto's wife and Kid/s crying
I mean WTF!! was that shot needed:huh

Not one sided at all. I had it 5-5 coming into the 11th. I just hope Cotto can improve his stamina and he goes to the body religiously if they have a rematch. With Margarito you have to kill the body, cause the head won't die if you don't.
