never seen a weaker resume for a 37 year old 29-0 "winner of an eliminator" now fighting one of the best 168 pounders for a title...there was a reason Bika beat his ass down like that....in a round heres mendys last few years 23-0 fights Christopher Holt 13 wins 8 losses 24-0 fights Jason Naugler 18 wins 8 losses 25-0 fights Nathan King 12 wins 13 losses 26-0 fights mathew barr 14 wins 4 losses 27-0 fights Josival Teixeir 14 wins 5 losses to put those **** fights in persepctive, see below James Degale 4-0 fights Nathan King after mendy fights him James Degale 5-0 fights mathew barr after mendy fights him James Degale 4-0 fights Nathan King after mendy fights him James Degale 5-0 fights mathew barr after mendy fights him
You said Mendy AND Curtis Stevens. If Bute doesn't fight Kessler next, it will be Kessler's fault... or Sauerland's fault, to be fair. I've said I would jump of bute's bandwagon if he doesn't fight the top when they are available. Are they? No, so I'm still on. That being said, I'm very disappointed by the Mendy fight and I won't even watch it on TV. I'll be at my summer camp. Kessler is fighting a guy 10 times worse than Bute's last opponents. I don't think he has to go that low, even for a tune up fight. I'd like you to say something about that, Bat. Renan St-Juste would have been ok (just ok) but that guy he chose? Muahahahahahahahaaaaaa!
You say Stieglitz invited bute to fight in Germany? Source, please. First time I hear that. Note: if you remember the last time A Canadian champion fought in Germany, he got badly stolen.
Yeah, Bute is been taking on some weak ass comp. His CV is definitely not enough to support the claim that he's the top dog in the division. He's still the sickest body puncher in boxing though.
Yeah real fair you fanboy! It couldn't POSSIBLY by Bute's fault that he doesn't face a live body. You shouldn't criticize Kessler's "tune-up" considering his injury. Bute's whole resume has been tune-ups, yet he never steps up to top competition. Kessler has had the balls to fight outside his hometown and to unify, something Bute dares not to do. Kessler is entitled to a pass on this one. Bute's fight is a disgrace.
Nobody has really answered this question. Escopeta has given a good attempt but there are no sources, and saying Bika was about to do anything is as much speculation as saying Mendy was about to do something Any sources anyone?
It doesnt look good, but many challengers have records over nobodies, ie G Johnson when he challenged first time or R Frazier for Jones and R Allen for Hopkins, and Jones and Hopkins were more established champs and considered American legends
CALM DOWN EVERYBODY ! Who did you want to fight in July ? I mean, he's planning to fight 3 TIMES this year. Better Mendy than nobody In July only Dirrell was available but he's out for more than a year already; he can't fight Bute immediately; ne needs a return match like Kessler which will fight an unknown fighter in June (the danish will most likely be the new Bute opponent at the end of the year). Other than these guys: - can't fight Supersix guys - Pavlik just returned from his inactivity and he wasn't very convincing; I doubt he wanted to fight Bute in July - Pascal and B-Hop going to fight next week; they can't be available for July - I doubt that Sartison or Stieglitz, 2 paper champions, want to fight Bute; anyway I DON'T CARE ! They're WORST than almost every boxer Bute faced in the last 3 years THINK BEFORE CRITICISE !
The good... * Bute stays active * He gets his mandatory out of the way * The guy he's facing is probably a better choice than some of the fighters that were mentioned as possible opponents for Bute to have faced in his second fight (Les Sherrington is the prime example of this) The bad * Mendy only got the number one ranking because Bika lost his head at a point when he had the fight well in hand. * His undefeated record appears to be a bit inflated, and a Bute ranking isn't really going to silence the voices of his detractors, no matter how impressive he looks. The bottom line. * Meh...Could be worse, all things considered. It's a showcase, low-risk fight, but everyone know this was the kind of fight that Bute's people were going to take anyway. Plus...It was probably a fight that was gonna have to happen at some point, so it's better to get it out of the way so that the path can be cleared for him to fight quality opponents going forward.
Listen to me, you who stay behind other country`s champions, you don`t know Bute, if someone is to blame is not him.He defeated three Americans in theirown ground in his early career.Living Montreal has mothing to do with fear.He said after second Ansdade fight he wants US. He`ll beat Kessler in the fall and meet winner of Super Six next march in MSG.What you`ll goona say then?
There are a lot of idiots out there who would want Bute to drop the belt and fight who??? Who the **** is he supposed to fight at 168 when Kessler and Dirrel are unavailable and even then I wouldn't want him to drop the belt. BTW: Stieglitz is a ***** dont bring him in any conversation!
