Perfect post. Sums it up extremely well. The only thing Khan should be thinking about doing is making Brook his next fight. Stop hiding and take the career high pay day. But he won't. Absolute egomaniac.
Great post with sense and truth I'm still waiting and I ain't seeing sh it Becoming one of the best poster on here Keep telling it like it is
The biggest issue I have is how all of the Khan apologists have allowed him to get away with not fighting a single live opponent because this supposed fight with Floyd was "just around the corner". You had to be a fool to believe it was. Time and again anyone who lived in the States and knew what was going on would tell the world it wasn't going to happen but this message never seemed to penetrate the cloth ears both Khan and his fans developed. The best word you could use to describe his wins in the last 5 years is "decent". Bearing in mind he's been fighting at world level for some time now, that's ridiculous. He's clearly cherry-picked opponents that do not have a dig and he's routinely won boring 12 round UDs. Pointless. The only fight that makes sense and can be made straight away is Brook. Forget this nonsense about building it up. It cannot get any bigger short of Brook somehow fighting and beating either Manny or Floyd. It's nothing short of a complete duck at this stage. How can anyone else honestly argue otherwise now?
You claim demotivated khan the fighter him self said he was over trained which backed fired he had something like a twelve week camp whilst he left caged Chris with some thing like five week , looking for every advantage and it back fired big time lol not as clever as one thinks, de he have his word with Virgil oops
Have to agree with all of what's been said, some good stuff here. The only thing I will say is that boxers aren't just there to please fans. If he comes out of the game with plenty of gold and all his faculties intact then who's to say his career wasn't a success? And at the end of the day he is an entertaining and talented boxer (no fanboy).
For me Khan should rematch Garcia or fight Thurman or Bradley late this year.. Otherwise he wasted another year.. After Algieri he has to fight a top 5 welterweight now..
Said it ages ago he as wasted his prime wasted any chance of a real legacy ,his speed is slowing he as took some real punishment when he shouldn't have , never understood the fundamentals' of pro boxing ,trying to chance it after all he is a chancer sorry but its nearly over for him and it never got started for harron
I used to like Khan cause he had a lot of spirit and didn't let his losses finish him but i cant stand him these days. he walks around like his excrement doesn't stink, like he has a better resume than everyone else despite not avenging any of his losses, and those loses where bad and very much in need of avenging in order to build his legacy. he conveniently forgets that and believes he is the best, he clearly is not the best and has done nothing to prove himself recently. the man is a tool these days.
Some excellent posts on this thread so far - it reminds me of the old days when it was routine on here as you wouldnt get the idiots/alts derailing threads with nonsense. Anyway at the risk of being called a khan apologist I think there are a few key things that arent being considered. Before PBC Khan was one of only two boxers to have their own individual fight contracts with HBO and then Showtime- the other was Mayweather. Since PBC started Khan -Algeri is the highested rated card interms of viewing figures in the series. Not american fighters like Garcia, Peterson, Thurman etc- amir khan from bolton. Outside of Mayweather and Pac and possibly Bradley nobody earns more then Khan at welterweight. As for his ticket sales as he mainly fights in the US where its irrelevant especially under haymon- fact is Khan v Alexander was a headline in the MGM grand....Algeri in the Barclays centre. I could go on but the point im trying to make is that Khan is a major economic forse whether people like or appreciate it. And these facts affect which fights can get made plus the other politics. I agree Khan needs a big fight very soon but its wrong to pretend he is irrelevant
The platform has been step up for Khan that if he beats Thurman, Brook, or Bradley just one of them and barring Floyd retires after Berto, Khan's ranking at 147 will shoot up, he can be No.2 behind Manny..
not bad points from the other side of the coin but c'mon if you cant sell a ticket and wont fight anyone of worth at WW then what is the point....Khans early career nobody can possible knock.win or lose he fought whoever and kept doing it but he has done nothing at all in years...AND he got beat by everyone he fought that was decent apart from maybe Maidana but **** knows how he made that weight so looking back getting done by a body shot may not be so shocking? its his big re****ed gobshyte mouth that has put everyone off him not so much his boxing
