Fight is 5 weeks out and haven't heard a peep about it. Love or hate sky if this was on Sky PPV it would be marketed everywhere. Maybe i just have missed it but do you think the level of coverage is sufficient? Seems to me like ITV are sitting on a gold mine but doing little to cash in on it..?
Very true, I've been really disappointed from the get go regarding their coverage/promotion of both the 168 and 200lbs divisions.
WBSS are just as much to blame. There should be billboards all over the country and adverts on in between the football etc.
2 articulate fighters. 2 of my favourite fighters. It should be hyped massively but they are doing nothing. Give the fighters the platform and they will sell it
ITV are not going to pay for any marketing etc they are in it for a quick profit, no long term strategy at all.
The quality of the managment at ITV and specifically in the sports area is shocking. I have already been over this a bit, but lets put it this way- media does not attract the finest and brightest business minds.
How can they hope to get anyone's attention when the bdo Lakeside Darts is just started on Ch4 and BT?
It is an exclusive club, and only the ones in that club get to watch it, it will be a nice corporate affair witnessed by those who have always been too scared to attend a fight, they used to call it a small hall show...
Yeah the arena , i thought they were talking about maximising ppv sales it hasn't been advertised at all , Bellend Gayemaker you can't get away from
It is poor, this is a huge fight as the ticket sales demonstrated. This fight really needs to be pushed on ITV, have both appear on This Morning and things like that, maybe have a 24/7 or behind the ropes type programme on ITV4.
