yeah i agree, don't know why they would call in and complain, it was obvious to anyone watching with half a brain that it was a totally innocent but dumb thing to say, it wasn't malicious at all, so people pretending to be offended by it, are idiots

The modern Zulu army has been trained by the current British Army and a Col who was in charge was the great great grandson of a soldier at Rorkes drift.

    Great post that my friend.

Most these PC brigade are rich white people who have too much time on their hands.

Most normal decent people white, black, asian etc just want to get on with their lives and get on.

    imo anyway.

It seems to me he was talking about throwing a javelin and the girl happened to be black.

I mean seriously, some people need to get a grip if they need to complain about that.

This is 100% correct- it is the white elite liberal left wing that are behind this type of PC lunacy.

I bet Tessa will **** herself laughing at Jim when he offers her an apology. they will then probably both have a laugh at how stupid the whole thing is.

Assegai means spear you numpty. A spear is a stabbing stick.

But you are right, they didn't throw them.

EDIT: I take that back.... they threw them too.

I was listening to a radio programme on Radio 4 some weeks ago and it was about PC. It described why PC was a good thing and why we all agree with it. e.g. 30 years ago, it was perfectly acceptable to use words and phrases that would be absolutely shocking these days.

Then, it talked about PC myths: both of the examples you gave about are PC myths - they have never happened. The experts they had in talked about "PC madness gone mad" and about "anti-PC madmen let loose" - the kind of people that make apocryphal stories up to engender a feeling of hatred for PC things, in general. The conclusion was that they were as bad and dangerous as the PC gone mad brigade.

Then, they made a useful distinction between PC - which used in the negative sense is a basket term used by people to vent all sorts of frustrations - and Health and Safety legislation and Anti-discrimination legislation.

e.g. Sometimes people say when there's a really annoying H&S rule: it's PC gone mad...even though it has nothing to do with PC; the also sometimes use the same phrase wrongly to complain about an annoying or strange anti-discrimination policy or procedure...

    Interesting programme...

    some conclusions:

    1. It is not politically incorrect to put a sign saying: "No blacks, no Irishmen, no dogs" in the window of your B&B. Instead, that is simply a statement that denotes an illegal discriminatory policy.

    2. It is not politically incorrect to stop the delivery of hot meals to 96-year-olds because staff might have their hands burnt by the hot food, during the delivery process. Instead, that is simply a stupid Health and Safety policy.

    3. Political correctness is important and good, in most cases. An employer shouldn't call his black employee with impunity a "****** son of a slave *****" whenever he feels like it, for example, or an epileptic employee a "spastic jelloboy" or an employee of German origin "a pickled Sauerkraut", or an employee with Turrets Syndrome "a drunken parrot", no matter how funny some people might find these "terms of endearment".

    4. For every politically correct person gone mad, there are at least two anti-PC persons gone mad, who either make up and/or spread false stories purporting to denote PC in action.

    e.g.:

    PC Myths:

    Changing Blackboard to Chalkboard
Banning the Nursery Rhymes- Baa Baa Black Sheep and Brown Girl in The Ring
Birmingham City Council is banning the use of the word "Christmas", insisting that it be replaced with "X-mas"
Police forced a man to describe a "gypsy skirt" as a "traveller's skirt"

...the Daily Mail is the bastion of the PC Myth spreaders. They just love to make PC stories up in order to create a permissive atmosphere in which racists and bigots can vent their attitudes in relative safety...e.g. "I am not a racist, but [racist comment]".

    :good

P.S. I had to wait for someone to explain why "spear chucker" might be offensive to black female javelin throwers...I didn't get it either...PC gone mad, that, I think!;)

Though its not an actual law both are frowned upon which amounts to the same thing as banning especially when you are reprimanded for saying it

Bollocks, mate! You are macking this stuff up! No one frowns on them at all and there's no reprimand at all either, unless you alone do and reprimand your kids for them.

Thats rubbish. Spear Chucker has ALWAYS been a racist term. Trust me i know. For Jim to call her that was an oversight on his part and showed his own ignorance and overall stupidity. Throwing a Javelin in Olympics has never been referred to as "Spear Chucking". If it was it would be called "Spear Chucking". The fact that Tessa IS black should make it more relavent in the senile old tits mind to watch his language.
