Well what the hell did Cruz expect since he was bashing Trump for a few weeks because of his "New York Values" he should have realized that might come back and bite him in the ass.
Actually, sorry, that comes to 94-93, as Ron McNair had it. After seven you wouldn't have thought Cruz had anything to worry about so long as he reached the final bell, having taken six of seven with a KD and seemingly with momentum and Redkach looking more worn out by his own pace and sloppy misses than did Cruz, who appeared calm and in control and wasn't being too wasteful. That one big left uppercut in the 7th really changed everything. Cruz never fully recovered from that, and is lucky he even crawled across the finish line to escape with the draw (in a fight which, again, he seemed to have in the bag when it was 70% complete) Boxing is cray-cray!
Am I the only one who noticed how loud it was when Cruz went down the first time? Sounded like a bomb went off.
That first knockdown was legit. Redkach had been throwing a hail Mary pass with that left uppercut all night and it finally paid dividends for him. As for that cuffing right hook that may or may not have directly scored the 2nd one and ended up sparing Redkach an L, eh...
Had the second knockdown by Redkach not been ruled, the official scores would have been 96-92, 96-93, and 95-94 - UD for Cruz, with Ron McNair's 96-92 most closely in sync with consensus fan scoring.
