Very good fight and Mugabi gave Hagler some problems.

Mugabi's people has a priest in the corner for the fight and after the penultimate round Mugabi's trainer tells him "Listen to the Father John, if you're not going to listen to me listen to the Father."

`You mustn`t give up John, you`ve stopped trying`... If you just move in with your hands up, weaving...

cotto and mugabi could have alot in common in the end we'll have to see what happens with cotto through the rest of his career but he just might be another explosive fighter like mugabi that came along ..gave the best the fight of his life .. only to go down in the end .. not exact same thing but close

Haglers stiffened reactions are punished and he takes a lot.

That being said he eats it as per usual and grinds down Mugabi after 'The Beast' completely depletes his reserves.

Mugabi's early snap was very good, but Hagler had the chin to have the last say.

This fight stopped Mugabi from reaching his true potential. He truly was a beast up until this fight, but Hagler made him quit, and his will and chin never seemed to hold up after this event.

It was a superb fight to watch but clearly Hagler was fading by this fight...Plus he was carrying in several injuries that I think postponed the fight initially.

Mugabi was impressive...I do tend to think he gets a little overrated because of this fight, he had other chances later on but just got wiped out..Plus he hadnt really beaten anyone at that stage to warrant the hype IMO.
He certainly deserves kudos for pushing a legend that far though...Cant take anything away from him there.

Eze have you ever seen this fight?

Hagler's most demanding and hardest hitting challenger. The pace was faster than the first Ali-Frazier fight (seriously)

Only Hagler could have pulled this one out

Roldan was a ***** of a fighter to deal with wasnt he.

Im not suprised he went into obscurity after this fight, at least until he was getting on a bit againts Hearns...I wouldnt put my fighter in against this guy if I was managing them.
