Indeed he was. At times he displayed the elusiveness of a Jimmy Young but throughout got in some nasty swipes. In addition he was trained and managed by Monzon's trainer Tito Lectoure. The media hated him though being that he was from South America.

Roldan was greatly underrated coming in. He was suppossed to be the least of the challengers but in many ways he was the most demanding.

I did see a few letters from people who saw at him on the undercard of Hagler-Duran. Some of the more astute ones seemed to know what Hagler was in for and one even predicted his defeat. He wasn't far from wrong.

    :rofl

Jimmy Young after he passed away maybe

You'd have poor Jimmy rolling in his grave with slander like that.

Why you always giving south american fighters a bad rap John? Anyone can listen in on the footage.

Sugar Ray himself was in awe of the talent he displayed and kept bringing up how elusive he was with his head. Not only dish it out but take it. Let's see anyone else go 7 rounds with Marv with one eye shut and still put up a fight.

All I have done is put up a link to another of Hagler's fights people may not know about. Most people dont know he had other capable opponents.

John would prefer to make up their minds for them and smear Marvin's greatest challenger before a person could even click on the link and see for themselves.

John if you're going to quote anyone it should be yourself. You were the one gloating i had no evidence that I was present at Marvin's sparring sessions telling me "where is it Rooster? Show us Rooster!" and when I did later that night I had you completely dumbfounded. After you ran out of dumb excuses you finally decided to shut the F up and give the board a rest for the night. I remember that night very clearly as do you.

On top of that though, you tried to insure that even if I had been there (meaning you knew that I had) that "

Only problem is the new book that came out Sorcery at Caesars says exactly the same thing. Too bad for you isn't it? If you make one claim against me I prove you wrong on the spot! If you have another excuse ready for "just in case I'm wrong" scenario, then shortly after a book comes out in print proving me right again!

Fella, this just isn't your day. Or year. Or decade. Or century.

Some people no matter how hard they try in life always end up looking like losers. And Robbi if I were you I'd stay far away from that loser.

This is the Classic forum dumbo.

The laughter was at your pathetic ramblings

You seem to have this insane fantasy about other posters logging off and running due to your amazing dominance and wit. Big hint dumbo - Australian time is not the same as the USA :nut

As for a pic, anyone could have taken it, and even IF you were there you're infatuation with Leonard wouldn't let you take anything meaningful in anyways.

Look at your insane comment about Monzon, which BTW have made an utter fool out of your accusation at me. Funny how you ramble about everything but that now, eh? Feeling the two faced fool by any chance?

    ;)

I don't give two shits what the book says, i have more than enough at the time factoids and the like to form my own opinion thanks muchly :good

Want to get back to your accusation about me picking on South American fighters? Wanna talk about your above comments on Monzon?

    Didn't think so

And what better source then the living breathing proof that is redrooster

For all your best anti Leonard efforts you still come off as transparent as freshly polished glass. Loser

Oh, it's 12.38am here so please don't think i've run away due to your pitiful rhetorical

    :good

Tho this may be the classic forum, members new to it may not be as familiar with certain matches or boxers as the rest of us regular posters. Ever think of that?

Do the words "never seen Hagler-Mugabi" ring a bell?

    Later for you loser!

Mugabi spends some time in the UK actually, i love the fight with Marvin but was very dissapointed by the way he quit against Duane Thomas..

On the undercard i remember Thomas Hearns fighting James Black Gold Shuler for the NABF Middleweight title that was Shulers. James was undefeated and Hearns smashed him to bis in a single round to snatch away the belt... awesome stuff. Sadly Shuler died in a motorcycle accident shortly after his first loss , and at his grave side Hearns gave back the NABF belt to his family saying that James held it longer than he did, it deserved to stay with him.. class act..

It's not the posting of the match that cuts me up, it's the insane ramblings about Roldan
