    Many of the past greats developed their physicality via hard labor.

    Fitz hammered away hour upon hour upon an anvil as a blacksmith.

    Jeffries was a boilermaker.

    Johnson worked hard labor on a farm.

    Truly hard work builds both body and mind. Toughness both physically and mentally. This was cited by many regarding the old timers including Fleischer.

    Jimmie foxx when asked how he hit baseballs so far said manual labor ....if you can't get powerful being say a miner , there is no hope for you

    I did a lot. This was much more unique then expected.

    That exercise he mentions in the beginning about the neck press is so old school.

    Magnificent for your neck development I use it to this day and it brought a smile to my face to see it mentioned.

    Hence forth when people say "What the hell are you doing!" I will bark back with pure enthusiasm "Have you heard of Jack Dempsey?"
