that's because hes passing off national level and euro b levels as defences for that long, and gets a free pass for cheating.
Again, how do you figure that? Dempsey clearly got the newspaper decision in some of them. I would add that nobody has really researched them in detail, so hard to say who won what.
Sanders is only a huge puncher cos he RECKT Wlad. His pudding chin doesn't make Sanders a huge hitter. Look how Rahman got polaxed bY oLEG , tUA , lENNOX. Then look how he soaked up Sanders punches sitting up on the ropes. A Pulev jab is enough to wobble Wlad. His chin is useless. 3/10 rating.
I don't have to imagine worse. I witnessed Leapai , Pianeta, Mormek sold as title challengers to the HW champion. Not contenders like you mention. Wlad - Mormek - KO4 Dempsey- Mormek KO 90 Secs. Dempsey - Haye KO 1 a week later.
good post...Dempsey would murder most of these slow.fat.musclebound.poorly conditioned.poorly taught.comparatively soft.almost talentless field but Dempsey would murder chinny lewis. Thanks
But wasn't Dempsey meant to be at his most lethal in the opening four rounds? He ought to have been even more lethal knowing he didn't have to go past round four. One of these fights was when Dempsey was in the middle of the KO streak that took him to the title, so it can hardly be said he wasn't prime either. The fact remains Dempsey was unable to put a serious dent in fat Willie in 20 rounds, and lost and drew more than he won...
Sam Peter? Peter was a very low skilled fighter. Many past champions would have no problems beating him. Dempsey would take him apart.
The thing with Meehan and any fast skilled boxer like him is they could potentially beat many greater fighters over a four round distance. Certainly in a 10, 12 or 15 rounder it would be a different story.
Those are big exaggerations. Peter could be outboxed by slicker fighters and beaten up by men who were big and strong enough to take his punches but I think he would astonish a lot of classic fight fans if you put him in the ring with an aggressive, front-foot cruiserweight.
Sam Peter was absolutely useless and had a very shaky chin. . He'd best be kept away from Dempsey for his own safety.
