This would be considerable horrible for Ali, because of his fleet feet he sometimes took a drop at certain points. Although he was never really hurt by some of these times he got caught off balance.. Jesus Christ.. I never thought of that before.. he would be absolutely brutalized if he got caught off balance just once and dropped.
The Tunney fights show Dempsey was clueless when it came to cutting off a ring ... that plus his unfulfilled potential based on inactivity post 1920 give me little to use to pick him ... however with his speed and power if he fought up to his skill set he could make it very interesting ..

I don't think Frazier was that adept either at cutting off the ring, or Louis, or Marciano. Really, Foreman set the HW standard in that respect. For 1919 Dempsey, speed on the attack would be much more of a key, as it was for Frazier in the FOTC.

Firpo wouldnt have a chance of doing that with Ali, but more importantly, think what Ali would do to Demps, hitting him at will.

why bring up a fight in Alis infancy, and a fight when Ali had Parkinsons. If you mean to use 40% versions of Ali when you should be using peak Ali, then you need to match them agaisnt a struggling teenage Kid Blackie Dempsey or a 35 year old plodding Dempsey in an exhibition match, both who got ****ed over regularly.
