I got them mixed up - Wikipedia. Bill Brennan never formally retired you tart. He was killed in a shooting at 30 years old, only 8 months after losing to Miske There is no evidence that he had left boxing behind for good. The reason why he was in a bad way was specifically because of the Firpo fight where he suffered a bad concussion that hospitalized him for 9 days. You are using the word 'middle' deceptively. He had only lost one fight and entered into another fight that he wound up losing. By definition you can't say someone is in the middle of a losing streak if they've only lost one fight! That's illogical. When he fought Firpo he was 18-2 in his last 20 fights. How can you say a guy who suffered one loss in 19 fights is 'on his way out'. That's easy to say with the benefit of hindsight but in reality that isn't the case.
I wondered how long it would take you to start with the insults. He lost 3 fights in a row ,that's a losing streak. Brennan was 6 lbs overweight for Firpo and 9 lbs overweight for Miske and he was not a ranked heayyweight. He was done.
There's no weight limit for heavyweight mate. 'Tart' isn't much of an insult. If you understand english I was saying at the time he fought Firpo he had only lost one fight so by definition he wasn't on a losing streak. The word 'streak' implies more than one instance of losing, he had only lost one fight before competing against Firpo. Quite troubling that you can't understand that simple concept.
Literally nobody said Foreman was an unstoppable movie monster. I don't even have Foreman in my top 5 h2h. It's very obvious you have a weird obsession if you're creating straw mans to attack. I'm not expecting you to dig through hundreds of posts. You claimed Firpo and Foreman have roughly the same level of skill and I disagreed citing Foreman's superb jab, body shots, etc. You claimed the only difference is film quality and then referenced other posters who don't think much of Foreman. It wasn't asking too much to ask you to cite some people who disagree Foreman was more skilled than Firpo who, if we're being brutally honest, was probably on the same level as guys like Chris Arreola or Dillion Whyte. Look, this is very simple. You made a very bold claim about an ATG that hundreds of people would vehemently disagree with you on, including numerous ATG trainers and fighters with far more qualifications than Greg or Pat. All I'm asking is for you to show me footage of Firpo where you think he demonstrated boxing ability on par with Foreman. You're playing with words now because I said Firpo was "crude and lacked fundamentals" and then you said that it describes 70's Foreman. Now I'll even ask politely: please back that up with timestamps of Firpo.
I have been on your case for some of your comments ,so perhaps you think I am picking on you? I understand English,I managed to get an A level in it. I had forgotten Brennan was killed in his bar ,so chalk that up for you. Carry On Young Man!
I still remember when this clown bumped a bone crusher thread that hadn’t seen any action in days just to say Foreman (who had literally zero to do with the thread) would’ve lost to Smith.
He mentions him in almost every thread he gets a chance even if it's not remotely related to the topic. I think he's tied with NoNeck, Choklab, etc for an unhealthy obsession with boxers they supposedly don't like. There's plenty of boxers I dislike and you don't see me bumping threads to talk about them or finding bizarre ways to bring them up in off topic tangents. The minute you point it out, they say you must be "blinded by nostalgia" even though neither of us are old enough to have seen Foreman in his prime fight live.
