I have been ACCUSED of being partial to bigger men for years, but that is simply not entirely true.......... I ONLY give the edge to bigger men when I am SURE that the bigger dude is also the better or at least equally talented fighter..........

I have never been favorable to past heavies like "Willard or Carnera." So I would rarely pick either guy to beat many of the solid / proven heavies who were not so monsterous.......

NOW!!! Dudes' like "Lewis and Foreman" were my boys in the 1990s... I love them folks................ And Vitali Klit is my main dude right now who is a monster........ I like him a lot, too....... I do favor these three guys over 95% of all ex-champs at heavy........

HOWEVER! On paper, my top dogs are slick and skillful 212 to 221 pounders (When In-Shape) Muhammad Ali and Lawrence Holmes."

I have said for years that Frazier's chin is rather poor by the standards of great fighters at heavyweight. Yes--Lesser guys who didn't exactly land their Sunday punch rocked Frazier, buckled his knees, in some cases floored him. Objective observers who have seen the flims know this is the truth, but telling this to big Frazier fans seems to fall upon deaf ears.

Dempsey is a 2 handed power hitter, with more versatility to his game, and IMO the better chin. I'd pick him to win.

Say what? Frazier is bigger and of equal talent to either Dempsey or Marciano........ All three have strong and weak points in DIFFERENT areas'......

Nobody is an equal talent to either.

    Or similar.

But Dempsey is a better puncher, faster, and quicker movement. The strength is nearly equal? So where does Frazier have the advantage that weight should bring? Power punching... I don't think so.

I'm not sure Dempsey was a better puncher than Frazier...... Fraizier's right is underrated.......... It was chopping and it hurt upon landing to the ribs........

Dempsey was NOT a sharp puncher...... Dempsey was often wild in his approach....... Frazier was hardly a wizard of defense, but he bobbed and weaved well......... Frazier's hook finds Dempsey's jaw fairly easy and Frazier's right finds Dempsey's rib-cage as well....... Plus, while Dempsey was a pressure fighter, Dempsey would find Frazier even more so of a pressure fighter........ I say Frazier is able to push Dempsey backwards in the ring....... That spells doom for Dempsey, too..........

    MR.BILL

    Note:

That pretty much applies to Marciano as well.......... Frazier pushes Marciano back while apply pressure..... Marciano was never pressured like Frazier would pressure......... Marciano being forced back is out of his element........

In my opinion, this wouldn't last long and Dempsey would win.

Fair enough, don't quite agree with all your assessment but it was well said on your part.

By the way, I don't see how Frazier can push Marciano back. Frazier has been pushed back often - far more than Marciano ever has. Marciano is probably stronger, at least equally strong. Marciano has almost every edge imaginable, except for hand & foot speed. Frazier may be the superior in-fighter, but Marciano's lower center of gravity and shorter reach probably nullify that advantage, anyway.

One things for sure, they would both fight with a hunger brought about by a tough life where they had to fight for everything they had

    Dempsey more so

This is why they had no quit in them, witness Frazier getting up after each of the Foreman knockdowns, hard men

I agree. In order for me to believe that Frazier would be pushing Marciano back in a head to head match-up, I would have to see him do it...and I do not think that is what I would see.

Judging by your Avatar, you wouldn't be 'favorable' to Dempsey would you??

I can see it..... Marciano had muscular legs, but Frazier had two Oak tree's for legs...... And if Marciano thought Joe Walcott's hook was wicked, he'd hate Frazier's hook even more so........

You have no place calling on someone's biased-ness when you have quite a few of your own minority picks.
