Personally I think Willard has a very good chance.

Whether or not Dempsey hit harder than Foreman and Shavers, he was a much better finisher than either of them.

I would add that however good or bad Norton was, he has everything going against him stylisticaly here.

Norton is going out and quickly.

:lol: Dempsey would've KO'd Norton the first time he landed - and he would land in the first round because he always did - Wills wouldn't have lasted much longer either - he got sparked by Paulino - not to mention by a virtually blinded little Sam when Harry was in his best form. - very funny though Kenny805

Foreman and Shavers are both more brutal finnishers than Dempsey, Dempsey just didn't have the same firepower of those men and wasn't as rangy. I didn't see the evidence that he's a better finnisher against Tunney either.

Norton's durability gets a bad rap, both Ali/Holmes would have stopped him if he was that fragile. Shavers/Foreman are perhaps the 2 biggest punchers in history and he was maybe past prime. Norton may well take Dempsey's shots and fight back like he did against Quarry, Ali, Holmes

When he has a man hurt, but he often needs 100s of punches to finnish his man. Against Firpo/Willard he was able to throw wide haymakers because both men had wide open defenses and were very slow. Against Norton he won't be able to do that and if he does he is liable to being counter punched

Norton may even KO Dempsey, who was sparked in a round himself

I haven't made a pick in this fight as there are too many question marks. Factors that may well influence it are: Glove Size, rule set,

He hits hard but his power is well overrated, LHWs sucked up his shots. He took 100s of punches to put Willard/Firpo away, hes a puncher, but rarely a 1 punch lights out type

Willard was actually a tough son of a *****, he had great heart, and a very good chin.
Yeah, well, Foreman isn't a 1 punch knockout artist either. He has thudding power. Look what he did to Norton. I'm sure Dempsey could do it too.
To even assume Norton has a chance is stupid. Norton can't take a good punch.

I keep hearing this claim, but when did he survive a puncher? Firpo and Dempsey, the only notable punchers he fought, both stopped him. Yeah he was past his best against them, but that doesn't mean he proved himself against a puncher. And no, Johnson, particularly the 37 year old disinterested one, does not count as a dangerous hitter.

    All punchers.

Johnson had KO power in either hand imo. pretty good power.
and Willard was tough. weather you want to believe that is questionable. He had heart to keep coming from from those knockdowns.
