I agree with that. A bit similar too Liston here just on a higher level - and a better title reign. Johnson was an atg, definitly. But number 2? I can´t see no argument for him over Louis.

    Yes .
The light heavy who went 20rds to a draw with Jim Jeffries, conceding 63lbs in weight.

The light heavy Jeffries said was the hardest hitter he ever met.

An opinion Fitzsimmons,Corbett, and Johnson agreed with.

The light heavy who held, Sharkey, and Hart to draws, the light heavy who kod.
    Godfrey
    McCauliffe
    Maher
    Childs
    O Donnell
Johnson scaled 168lbs , 8 months prior to their fight, in a match with Jim McCormick
The fight was nearly 8 years before Johnson became Champ ,so maybe a slight lack of objectivity on your part?

I think he beats Louis, but then I think Dempsey does too,I think Johnson beats Dempsey, so he is no 2 for me.I am happy in the minority.:good

Fair enough I guess. I admire Johnson for just doing his thing and not caring about how he should be or what he should do. He did it his way. Always reminds me of this song.

I believe Sinatra grew to dislike this song as he was continually requested to sing it,and getting quite deaf he often forgot some of the lyrics.
"Here's That Rainy Day", was his favourite , for singing ,mine too.
His signature tune used to be ," Put Your Dreams Away". Of course that may have changed over the decades.

He was definitely the best of that era. He and Dempsey were the best prior to Joe Louis, imo.
