Jai Opetaia will return to the ring on March 8 in Las Vegas

What an utterly ludicrous comparison to make. One fighting on HBO for the Heavyweight championship of the world… the other at Cruiser.

But I mean, I’ve only matched his last few fights, what would I know. Have a good’un.

 

Probably a bit of truth in both sides, even the most feared punchers/fighters can usually get a decent opponent by paying decent cash but I do think fighters like billam-smith for example would be advised not to take that fight, mcguigan is not daft and seems to have a real knack for carefully navigating his fighters away from the danger fights

All i know is, I like opetaia but I’m ready to see him announce a decent opponent, I feel like the interest in waning a little now due to lack of decent opponents

Who are the decent opponents who, by implication, Jai is avoiding? Because from here, they are avoiding him.

 

I don't think he is avoiding anyone but I think he could have fought better opponents in recent times for whatever reason. I don't accept literally everyone in the top 10 is ducking him. Nobody has ever accepted that excuse for any fighter ever before.

 

Let's see what happens with Zuffa? It looks like three or maybe four fights for him this year with the two contracted bouts announced and probably Mikaeljan and the Ramirez/Benavidez winner.

Mikaeljan is the most impressive attitude wise. He was asked about Opetaia immediately after the Jack fight and basically said "make it happen", he has maintained that attitude since.

Does anyone know who the light heavy later in the year is likely to be?

 

Best guess would be Benavidez after he kills that coward Zurdo.

 

Troll? Where is the lie? It’s a fact, his best win is a life and death with a 50 year old washed up Breidis.

 

The only thing with Benavidez is he will already be s cruiser if he faces Jai after Ramirez and I thought I heard somebody say "another talented light heavy looking to move up". Bivol maybe? Great styles battle with Opetaia.

 

If you think Briedis was washed (especially first time around) then either your eyes are painted on or you have an agenda.

In any event they are the two best wins by any active CW on the planet. End of.
