LaMotta perseveres to win a hard fought decision. Pavlik would not be able to deck Jake, but he would rattle him at times. LaMotta's savvy on the inside, his general overall smarts plus his strength and ruggedness would carry him through to win on points. Pavlik was exposed by Hopkins as being a bit one dimensional and despite height and reach advantages, wasn't the best at exploiting those advantages as say, a Carlos Monzon.
