I was actually a defender of Jake for a long time. I think his development up until Tommy was totally fine and was being hated on a bit out of ignorance.

The perry fight was whack but ok, Perry was the hottest thing in BKB... hes an active fighter whose on a winning streak, had a lot of hype at the time. Whack but I could see shreds of why it could be acceptable.

Then he fights Mike Tyson which is beyond a joke. That fight though was so massive, and with netflix doing it was kinda like this weird circus event whose magnitude didnt justify it, but made it a bit obvious why theyd make this circus event. I got the notion this was also in part a favor to mike, whered hed make a huge paycheck without much threat and Jake would take it easy on Mike and that wound up being the case.

Was a shame and a joke but at least there was some undeniable context that almost made it understandable as far as circus events go.

But this... this is actually probably Jakes worst actual opponent since Ben Askren four years ago.

Almost four years ago Chavez lost to Silva, which was the win that 'legitimized' Silva as an opponent for the younger less experienced Jake. Jake then beat Silva.

Now Jakes fighting the guy Silva beat, four years later?

For a fight that has next to no commercial value?

This fight makes no sense on no level other than Jake being able to have a known opponent to beat, regardless of how trash the opponent is. But if thats the case there were still better choices out there than Chavez.

    Embarrassing stuff.

Yeah this is almost a backward step for Jake now. He's beaten someone comfortably who's beaten Chavez himself.

Well , jake,s business model is to search for known names but shot enough to have a chance to beat them and call himself a victorious boxer .

Who is currently available who fits this business model ?

He is smart enough to NOT callout lets say wilder ( assuming wilder would refuse to agree to a staged fight )

A link to the vid of the fight would be the only entry under “FAFO” on urbandictionary.

AJ is on the downslide, but he’s still leagues ahead of Jake Paul. look what he did to Ngannou, who is actually his size, and who is actually a grizzled combat sport vet.

He is going to start running out of options soon I reckon Jorge Masvidal will be next after Chavez Jnr I don’t think he really wants to fight Tommy Fury again.

I agree it will get harder to find somebody.

Bringing influencer money to lure names like joshua would in fact mean joshua is willing to accept a scripted fight for money . When joshua agrees and fights in a way it goes to the distance against jake paul it would be suicide for AJ,s career .

If they fight for real it would be suicide for jake paul , he would leave the ring via ambulance on oxygen supply rd1-2 and he knows it .

I wonder if he would consider fighting Tyson Pedro he is a former UFC fighter who made his pro boxing debut earlier this year. I was at the fight he looked good and won by 7th round TKO he actually called out Jake Paul after the fight.
