Tommy Fury is really, really bad. He's a total bum. Campbell Hatton level. Hittable. Slow. Sluggish. No technique. I'm not even sure he beats Jake Paul to be honest. He looked awful tonight and it was the first guy who actually punched back in his career so it's telling.
Paul has better technique. His jab is 100% better. And his power might be better too. I can see Jake being a slight favorite in this matchup to be honest. Tommy Fury is really, really bad. It'd be still competitive though. Solid matchup!
while they wouldn't deserve the money they would make id actually like to watch it. that 4 rounder against Grant was evenly matched and fun to watch.
Yes, he's really really bad... And yet his opponent tonight is still levels beyond anyone Jake has dared go in with. I'd still back him to toy with Jake Paul, honestly.
JPs level is still a questionmark but i don't see many weapons in TFs arsenal to be honest. He's just strong and young. So is JP.
I'm boxing since i'm 8 years old and i would call myself a bum too if i would fight at big events like a Daniel Dubois event. If you're not good...you're not good. If you fight at big events and you're looking like a guy who should fight in a small gym because you're bad then it is what it is....it's about levels. Not about terms. If Tommy Fury would have fought on the Fightzone card tonight in Sheffield nobody would call him a bum. And his acting is another part of the story...he's acting like he's a world class fighter. Additionally ...everyone can call himself "a boxer". You can pick up guy from the street, give him a pair of gloves and call him a "boxer". Tommy Fury isn't a boxer. He's a wannabe celebrity who has a famous name (Fury). He neither has a solid amateur background nor anything else.
Fearless JP runs into a huge counter, Spik labors to finish him off. Somewhere between four and six rounds
True, Jake's level might be far higher than he's daring to fight at... The thing is, when there's levels between two fighters resumes there's normally a good reason for it - there are exceptions, sure, but most (if not all) serious fighters want to be tested and that's where resumes come from. As you say, Tommy has a limited arsenal but if there's levels between two fighters you might not need much - just look at Joyce/Dubois for example, it was such a mismatch Joe didn't need anything but jabs.
Tommy and Jake will both get KOd when they fight any half decent boxer. Heck, Jake may get KOd when he actually fights an actual boxer of some degree It's all a circus, boxing has been a circus since it's inception. It's because there a dumb ****s willing to buy into it and greedy ***** promoters who are there to exploit it. Every once in a while there comes a good fight fought on fair terms (near 50 - 50, no short camps, no significant weight disparity, aging fighter vs prospect etc.)
