Harder than Paulie Malinaggi ever did. And definitely harder than Juan Carlos.

 

I'm gonna say lightweight if his brother Logan was any indication against Floyd. I think the best thing to do though is see when he fights Nate Diaz assuming the fight will go through. Nate ain't a pro boxer, but he is a pro fighter who is comparable to McGregor who fought Floyd.

 

The reality is he has good power at least for smw/lhw. Not sure he is a huge hitter at true cruiser.
But he KO'd Askren and Woodley, who had good chins against 170lb fighters in mma. And he did it with boxing gloves.
And he dropped Silva, who Chavez Jr. didn't hurt.
The Silva fight is the best clue that his power is comparable to good punchers at SMW-LHW at least.

Generally agree with this.

But boxing marketing makes for some weird wrinkles. Especially since Ali, fighters tend to make excuses to the public, exaggerate their abilities, posture about what fights they're willing to take, and insult each other in the press.

Don't get me wrong: this stuff sells fights, so we can ultimately go back to blaming the boxing consumers for lots of it.

But at the same time, boxing fans are entitled to point out fighters' nonsense. Boxing fans are also entitled to get annoyed with fighters, and to make that annoyance known. For example, when said fighters are hopping up and down claiming to want fights, and then backing off or making excuses. Same way you'd be angry at anyone else who seems like he's actively trying to deceive you.

Fighters' fans complicate things further. They'll make absurd claims for their guy that strike many people as disrespectful of other boxers, and sometimes the guy with the fanbase will embrace what they're saying about him.

Boxing is kind of an unpleasant sport, publicity-wise.
