leaky defense????? check his last fight!!!! the guy threw over 15 punches didnt land with one!!! ok maybe one soft jab. he has mayweather style dfense. he's not reached his peek yet. but trust me in two years he'll be winning convincingly against world champs.
scot gilfoid used to slag him off untill recently. you have to admit for gilfoid the number 1 brit hater to sing the praises of a brit boxer he must be a special talent. trust me im not influenced by that thick ****!! apart from being influenced to commit terrible crimes against him!!! ive written articles about degale in the past.... he's my favourite prospect!
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV-EYnCf9V0[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEoqBWFeYmI&feature=channel[/ame] Watch this bout again. Look how he walks onto unnecessary punches throughout the bout before he gets the stoppage. In this bout, he showed a very leaky defense...if this was on World level, he would have been knocked out! And yes, he's not at World level yet so he can afford to do things like this and not get punished...but it's also a learning curve at this point in his career. If his first bout hadn't been picked apart like it was, he wouldn't have been boxing like this. At the minute he is performing for the crowds approval, this is how most prospects come unstuck.
all i can say is watch all of his fights. if he wanted to he could take these guys out in double quick time like he did in his last fight. but he is trying new trick, techniques and aiming for excelence. he's an unorthadox switch hitting counter puncher with power skill speed and movement. the mans gifted!
good speed,ok skills verus nobodies. cant punch properly, looks like calslappy when he punches. seems too cocky at the moment. him vs groves should be good, groves punches properly, has good power and has even sparred a lot with carl froch. if degale wins his next fight he has groves as his mandatory.
if you watch the post fight interview he says he was experinmenting. trying trick shots and working on new things. thats what all the best fighters do. the dont go in there and blast people out. they use there brains to dvelop and use fights as a learning curve. tell me this why did he blast out carl dilks in a round but as you say struggle against a this guy when dilks is a better more skilled fighter. you cant deny the punches he connects in this fight are incredible combinations.
But that's the problem, he's being rushed along by Warren (probably influenced by himself)...and he's trying new things in bouts like these. Then next thing you know he's fighting for the British title, if he gets past that...no doubt he'll be pushing for the Euro title. He's not even close to the finished article, so will he be trying new things out in these bouts? I'd say he couldn't afford to. Look what happened to Khan, he was rushed, he wanted everything early, he was too impatient, he didn't gain the experience needed. I see a similar pattern with De Gale, from what I've seen, he takes unnecessary shots (his chin is still unproven over 12)...he throws good punches himself, with good-ish power. But yeah, not convinced yet.
ok skills???????? have you seen his fights????? he's got all the tricks and skills you can imagine. plus he punches like calzaghe i agree but who cares if he hits hard and fast. calzaghe did ok. and yes he seems too cocky but anyone who knows him like carl froch, stephen smith, tony jeffries all say he's humble and one of the hardest workers. if and when he fights grove he'll win every round! why are people still rating george groves after his last performance?????
fair enough. every reason to be unsure because he's unproven like you say. i have a strong feeling about him though. plus the feed back you get from his sparring and training. i know what u mean with amir khan. all the hype that eventually catches up with you. the diference is degale has a decent chin. he's never had any problems in amateur career or all his pro bouts. amir had a glass chin since day one. they shopuld of protected it.
