    He was never the same after Medina Porky'd him, Porky fought like a man possessed that night and being Porky'd is just as damaging to a fighter's career as being Cobra'd and then DeGale had that war with Badou Jack where he got his teef knocked out and his eardrum burst. And like his fellow Brit world SMW champion Super Joe he had way more than his fair share of injuries to contend with and his party lifestyle would've taken its toll too.

    Yeah, I'm not sure what he can do except boxing, he's not that good a speaker, can't see commentating.

    His timing was way off and he just couldn't pull the trigger even when Eubank looked out of position. It looked like he injured his left shoulder which made him look even more past it but yeah, it was evident from round 2 onward that he's not the same fighter.

    He teamed up with the wrong trainer in Jimmy McDonnell who has a habit of OVER-training his fighters and they often leave their best work in the gym.

    He should have been with someone like Adam Booth or Rob McCracken who don't let their fighters peak too early.

    I mean how can someone be shot at age 33?

    I don’t know if I’d call it a sudden decline. DeGale even back in 2015 was showing a lot of signs that he wasn’t the most motivated fighter, which is a shame, since with his talent he should’ve been able to pickup right where Ward left off.

    In both the Medina and Jack fights he had a look in his face that he’d rather be doing something different.

    Periban-->lost his next two and became a journeyman

    Degale is no exception.

    Doesn't live well enough outside the ring to have the longevity his skills would afford him. Particularly as a career SMW. Over 10 years he's been making weight at 168 - if you don't live the life, you need to move up in weight. If you're consistently trying to make weight in camp instead of honing and sharpening your tools, eventually you decline as a fighter.

    Other than having a dogged survival instinct, Degale brought nothing else to the O2 arena last night.

    To see a 2 time world champion and Olympic gold medallist fight in the manner Degale did against Eubank, was a frankly sad and embarrasing to witness.

    Degale it is time to hang up the gloves.

    He barely beat Porky Medina and that was 3 years ago.
    Jack had an early flash KD and proceeded to to batter him.
