Just remembered they did this in "Ali" [yt]spMJcTdyJHM[/yt] 1:15 in And of course, Toney gets KO'ed by Foreman 5 minutes in
And Will Smith KO'ed Charles Shufford in Zaire. Good for him. Saw this film for the first time recently, and being a fight aficionado ruined the movie because I felt like I knew more than the film had to present.
:good I had the same problem. I felt I was too knowledgeable about the subject of Muhammad. The Will Smith film was mainly beneficial to the ones who were casual boxing fans hoping to get an outline of Ali.
This is right up their as one of the worst documentaries of all time. Whoever Michael Mann hired to do the research for the historical aspects of Ali's career and his opponents knows SDFA about boxing. James Toney playing Frazier should say it all about the quality of this film. Garbage.
I'd like to see a film about the Muhammad Ali/Joe Frazier rivalry. Focusing on the years 1970/75. A film that's fair to both men, showing their virtues and faults. Not displaying Ali as the 100% bad guy,and Joe the poor little victim boy,as sometimes comes over nowadays. None of them were saints.
James copied Frazier's style to a T. Too bad he didn't fight this way in real life. I don't like Will Smith, so seeing him get his arse handed to him makes my day!! So far, my favorite boxing movies are Rocky Marciano and Cinderalla Man. Jack Dempsey, Ali, and Phantom Punch (The Sonny Liston story) were absolutely horrible.
I've never seen Phantom Punch,Hydraulix. Did n't know it'd been made actually. Good to see you back on here.
