If there was anyone at 175 who could have dented Toney's granite chin it was Foster. Toney seemed to do better when he moved up the heavyweight due to his thicker frame. But at lightheavyweight I would favor Foster if these two fought. Foster by either UD or even possibly late stoppage.

But Foster would win handily, his jab being the key, even if it wasn't landing it would stop Toney doing too much back. He seemed unmotivated at light heavy. At 175 he may lose a decision or repeat his Michael Nunn feat. Above or below this class he would have probably stopped the fragile Somalia kid.
power is great on paper, but honestly, technically Toney is close to a level above, coupled with an iron jaw and a countering style made to deal with Foster's onslaught. I see Fosters face getting tenderised slowly and stopped late on
Toney's countering style was much more suited to dealing with in-fighters/volume punchers and mid-range boxers, not rangy out-boxers with the jab and patience of Foster. Foster may not've been very versatile in his approach, but neither was a guy like Monzon (nor the flat-footed Toney if you want to get down to it, least of all at this weight). Both men made great use of their physical advantages and ability to control the distance (Foster a bit less so due to his crouch, though his long, ram-rod jab made up for it well). Toney didn't have the footwork to consistently find the range on someone like Foster. I think he'd fight a mainly defensive fight and lose a wide decision in the process.
It might be good for two rounds, but once Foster finds his range, Toney can kiss his senses goodbye for around 7-8 minutes( third round knockout for Foster).
Its hard to say, cuz Foster is top-3 at 175, but Toney is an ATG overall..... If Toney is trained properly and fit, he beats Foster on points with ease..... If Toney is lazy, he loses the decision...... :deal Overall----Toney better........:good MR.BILL:rasta
