never said he would. just said i thought he beat him a few years back and that fight was the start of McDonnels route towards a world title. Napa was lined up for the France fight but McDonnell got it instead.

And Napa got a gift against Davies the fight before, **** tends to even itself out.

Napa wasn't lined up for the Arnould fight at all

Napa was 100% in line to go to France to fight Arnould. I remember that really well.

You are mis-remembering, McDonnell took the fight on a week or sos notice after Arnoulds opponent dropped out, and it wasn't Napa

Was the decision really as controversial as the media are making out?

Anyway can't wait to see the fight, I'm so made up for the lad he must be buzzing right now.

"This does ruin Napa's scheduled March fight against Jerome Arnould for the vacant European bantamweight title"

    Was the fight signed? :D

McDonnell stepped in as a late replacement for someone else, not Napa

McDonnell might have taken it at late notice and another opponent pulled out, but if Napa had got the decision it would have been him going to France. You said "Napa wasn't lined up at all" which was wrong. Your a European citizen....but don't know the complete history of the European Bantamweight title. Disgraceful!

Great fight! It's a shame that he won't get the recognition he truly deserves for this victory. Be interesting to see how he's matched up, there are some great fight to be made against the likes of Shinsuke, Agbeko and Moreno.

I didn't expect McDonell to perform the way he did, but he really put everything into his performance when he needed to and deserves a lot of credit and respect.
