As Rhodes himself said, he adapted early doors and decided to stay in the pocket and try and go armano armano. Running around the ring trying to box Moore was asking too much and he wouldn't have landed enough to slow down Moore in order to catch up to him late on. I don't think tactics played a massive part though. This was just two warriors having a tear up and willing to go that extra bit further than in the past. I'm thinking of Rhodes specifically here. A few years ago I doubt he would have lasted with such intensity coming at him but he looked a man on a mission. I do think Moore has the greater scope to fight at a higher level though. Seems to have more to his reportoire. Rhodes is the type of fighter that will struggle to produce back to back performances at that level because digging that deep every fight is hard to do. With Moore it's bit more effortless.
You reckon?, and all this on a "Jamie Moore was weight drained" thread....what is it?, weight drained or out smarted?...if its the first like you contend then there won't be a re-match, and therefore your money is safe.
Rhodes won fair and square. Rhodes had the better plan and showed himself to be a class above Moore. Stop crying. :-( Yorkshire, Yorkshire, Yorkshire. :happy:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy
Oi Mazallan, if the rematch is made are you willing to put your money where your dirty Yorkshire mouth is? I guarantee u slagged Ryan off left, right n centre when he was getting his arse kicked in the first 3 rounds, granted its 12 rounds but a properly hydrated Jamie Moore ****s Ryan Rhodes up
RyDogg - you're not doing Moore any favours. I don't buy into any of this "I was weight drained" - it's an alibi for losing. If you're struggling to make the weight, and you feels it's damaging your performances: move up. If you climb into that ring and think you can get by when you're not at or near your best, you don't have a right to an excuse. Moore, in fairness, isn't offering excuses because he's a man about it. he doesn't need an excuse because he gave his all and was doing well till Rhodes landed that beautiful right hand. But, if a fringe world-class guy like Rhodes does that to him, I can't imagine Moore bringing it to a higher quality fighter.
Jesus, Is Salford full of nut huggers ? Jamie has plan A nothing else. When that don't work, he's in trouble. Perfect game plan from Rhodes, showing the experience he's gained over 13 years including slogging on the crap undercards to get back up there. It's disgusting you're not as pragmatic as your man. Jamie got beat by the better man - he knows it, he admits it. How tough do you think it was to do the weight for BOTH boxers ? Shitty excuse if you pull that one. As for a rematch do you not listen ? Jamie's already said that's his last fight at Light Middle. Two warm ups then in with Macklin I say. In the meantime rejoice in the victory of Rhodes, the best example of a true warrior that you could ever have to a young pro setting off right now.
Best post I have seen on here for ages....:happy:happy:happy I worry for the longevity of Moore in the sport now, he cannot go his fight career going at it all the time, the level he is aiming for you need that little bit extra and I worry that he does not have that bit extra that Ryan was able to draw on and old man Moore out of it... Ryan matched him at his own game...switched on the front foot and back foot to excecute a clinical stoppage with 12 unanswered head shots....:good
Look, you ****ing *****, stop dangling off Jamies balls, he is a decent man who doesn't need cocks like you bigging him up...are you going to address the point I made earlier??
If he was so weight drained, do you think he would have got up and recovered so well friom the initial knock down?????
Simply do not care, it was an epic fight and Moore is awesome. Look forward to fighting him again, he's got a never say die attitude.
the reality is, we love winners and want to give them all the credit, while perhaps overlooking the numbers of factors that led to the losing fighter's defeat. yes, i think it's clear moore was weight drained. but he might have gotten away with it vs most of the names on domestic and euro scenes. there - is that good enough, i.e. giving both men credit, for what they did? rhodes interestingly has had success coming down from middle to light middle. moore needs badly to go up from light middle to middle. success is a delicate balance & in the case of these 2 warriors, weight has something to do with what happens.
